After many delays due to the epidemic,Vinh City Walking Streetofficially opened on April 8. The first appearance of the walking street in Nghe An has attracted a large number of people to experience, have fun and shop. According to statistics from the Vinh City People's Committee, in 2 nights (April 8-9), about 20,000 people participated in the walking street.

Faced with the great attraction of the large number of people, many people in Vinh City and neighboring localities have contacted the units in charge of the walking street to register their businesses on these streets.

Specifically, Vinh City People's Committee has assigned Truong Thi Ward to receive business registration applications from households. In recent days, the number of applications has continuously increased.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Truong Thi Ward, in just a few days there have been over 60 applications and will continue to increase in the coming days. Applications come from all wards and communes in the city and most of the applications are for business in the fields of food, beverage, souvenir sales... According to the registration rate, most of the applications choose to do business on Ho Tung Mau Street, followed by Nguyen Van Cu, Nguyen Tai and Nguyen Trung Ngan.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident of Vinh City, said: "During the past two nights of the walking street, I also participated to experience it. At first, I intended to have fun and entertain, however, after seeing the large number of people and the high demand for snacks and drinks, I came up with the idea of ​​doing business on the street. After that, I contacted to register and prepare goods to be ready for the next day of operation this weekend...".

Previously, based on the survey, the city selected 79 business locations on walking streets including Nguyen Van Cu, Ho Tung Mau, Nguyen Tai and Nguyen Trung Ngan. If the number of applications exceeds the number of business locations, the city will organize a lottery to ensure objectivity and fairness.

Talking to PV, Mr. Tran Quang Lam - Vice ChairmanVinh City People's Committeesaid: In the early stages of operating the walking street, the city's view is to encourage people to register their businesses to create a crowded and cheerful atmosphere. The city will also have support policies for businesses in the early stages. In addition, businesses must ensure requirements on product quality, food hygiene and safety, and publicly list prices. The city will promptly inspect and handle businesses that do not comply with regulations.

Previously, in the Vinh City walking street project, the city clearly defined the plan for organizing business activities on the streets. Specifically, the sidewalk of Nguyen Van Cu Street: Allowing households doing business on the street to use the entire sidewalk in front of their business establishments to organize additional types of tourism services to create excitement, bustle, and attraction for the entire street.

The sidewalk of Ho Tung Mau street (in front of the Provincial Cultural Center, Mobile Police Department; in front of Quan Lau market) is used for renting out the sidewalk in front of the night business activities to sell goods to serve tourists such as: sketch portraits, calligraphy, photography, refreshments, coffee, street food...

The city also directed the People's Committee of Truong Thi Ward to develop regulations and rules for managing business activities; build a civilized commercial street in the walking street area; regulations on commercial business such as: Goods with clear origin and source, ensuring food hygiene and safety, having trash baskets placed under the table to collect trash, environmental sanitation; implementing price posting and selling at the correct listed price, for goods and services.

In addition, the locality needs to organize training for businesses on the street on business skills and communication skills to make a good impression on tourists. Organize the signing of commitments by organizations and individuals doing business on the street to comply with the rules and regulations of the street; use and pay sidewalk fees.
