Political researcher points out why the US refused to help Zelensky
The United States cannot help Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky counter Russia's special operation due to the country's own declining political influence, political analyst Samaneh Ekvan writes in a column for the Kayhan newspaper.
According to experts, Washington has failed to assume the dominant role it assumed after the end of the Cold War in a unipolar world. That has weakened America's position in international affairs, including in Europe.

“The most important example in this regard is the consistent and repeated request of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to the Americans, NATO and the European Union to do something to protect his country from Russia, but all of them have repeatedly demonstrated that they are incapable of doing so,” Ekvan wrote.
At the same time, the political researcher noted that the US administration's statements about its unwillingness to openly confront Russia are just an attempt to conceal the real problem./.
