Launching the 2022 Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament

On the afternoon of April 15, the Organizing Committee of the 24th Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament in 2022 held a meeting, deployed tasks, and kicked off the new season.

Comrade Ngo Duc Kien - Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; representatives of the Department of Education and Training, SLNA Football Club, comrades in the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper and related members.

After two years of suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2022, in the context of the pandemic being controlled and activities entering a new normal state, the Organizing Committee of the Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup decided to restart the tournament to create a useful playground for teenagers and children in the summer; contribute to discovering football talents for the province as well as continuing the tradition of the oldest youth tournament in Vietnam.

As expected, this year's tournament will have 21 youth football teams, 21 children's football teams from 21 districts and cities in the province participating. The teams will compete centrally in Vinh city from June 8, 2022 to June 16, 2022. In addition to awarding cups, flags, medals, and bonuses to the champion teams, second and third prize teams, the Organizing Committee will award style awards as well as individual titles; award players who are good at studying and playing football; support athletes in difficult circumstances...

There are many players who grew up from the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament who are currently playing for the national team.

This year, the Organizing Committee will make adjustments to ensure the safety of athletes against the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children Football Tournament is one of the oldest youth tournaments in Vietnam. Having been held 23 times, the tournament has contributed to promoting the movement of the whole population to exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho, creating a healthy playground for students and discovering many football talents for the country. Many players were discovered from the tournament and have become famous players such as Cong Vinh, Van Quyen, Que Ngoc Hai, Trong Hoang, Phan Van Duc, Pham Xuan Manh, Nguyen Manh, Nguyen Cong Phuong...
