5 suspects prosecuted in the case of a 9th grade female student being gang raped

Quynh Nhai District Police, Son La Province, has just prosecuted 5 people related to the rape case of a 9th grade female student.

On the morning of April 24, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Viet Cuong - Chief of Police of Quynh Nhai District, Son La Province - said that the unit had prosecuted and issued detention orders for 5 people related to the rape of a 9th grade female student in Chieng Khoang Commune, Quynh Nhai District.

Of these, 4 people were prosecuted for Rape of a person under 16 years old, one person was prosecuted for Failure to report a crime. Another person was also involved in the case, but the district police commander said that this person was under 16 years old, and at the same time, the behavior did not have enough basis to constitute a crime, so he was not prosecuted.

"The defendants are all under 18 years old, some are under 16 years old, so their identities have not been announced for the time being. At the investigation headquarters, the five defendants all admitted to all their crimes," said Lieutenant Colonel Cuong.

It is known that the authorities have taken the victim for forensic examination to strengthen the case file according to the provisions of law.
Previously, on March 20, a 9th grade female student drank alcohol with 6 other people in Chieng Khoang commune, Quynh Nhai district. After getting drunk and not sober, the female student was raped by the remaining people.
