Without any medical or cosmetic degree or certificate, 3 people still performed nose lifts and liposuction, causing a woman to die.

On April 24, the Investigation Police Agency of District 1 Police (HCMC) announced that it had prosecuted and temporarily detained Le Thi Huyen Trang (26 years old, from Binh Thuan), Phan Thanh Tung (34 years old, residing in District 4), and Nguyen Ngoc Tu (28 years old, from Lao Cai, residing in District 1) to investigate violations of regulations on medical examination and treatment.

Accordingly, around November 2021, Trang rented a floor inside a house in Nguyen Thai Binh ward, District 1 to use as a beauty salon.

Because of their acquaintance, Trang accepted Ms. HTN (31 years old, from Ca Mau) as a student. After that, Ms. N. asked Trang to do liposuction and nose job at a cost of about 15 million VND. Trang contacted Tu to perform anesthesia and pain relief at a cost of 3 million VND.

On December 5, 2021, Trang, Tung (surgical assistant) and Tu went to Trang's cosmetic facility tocosmetic surgeryfor Ms. N..

During the surgery, Trang and Tung took care of the liposuction and nose job, and Tu took care of the anesthesia. After several hours of surgery, the group let Ms. N. rest for about 2 hours. After that, Trang asked her sister to take care of her and then took Ms. N. back to her rented room in District 8.

On the evening of December 5, 2021, Trang heard that Ms. N.'s health condition was showing signs of instability, so she took her to the emergency room, but early the next morning, Ms. N. died.

Receiving the report, District 1 Police, District 8 Police and a number of professional units conducted an investigation.

Working with the police, Trang’s group admitted that they had no qualifications or practice certificates in medical examination and treatment or cosmetic surgery. Trang’s cosmetic surgery facility also had no business registration.

Not only that, the group has performed illegal cosmetic surgery at Trang's cosmetic facility many times for many other people.

According to the investigation agency, the cause of Ms. N.'s death was acute respiratory failure due to diffuse alveolar damage and multi-organ intravascular coagulation. This is a medical condition, and the failure to detect this disease combined with uncontrolled anesthesia caused the victim to have respiratory failure and die./.
