Nghe An: Driver who caused an accident and fled was discovered when taking the car for repair

(Baonghean.vn) - After causing an accident and fleeing, just a few hours later, the driver was discovered while taking the damaged car for repair.

On the afternoon of April 29, Anh Son District Police said that they had identified the driver who caused the accident that seriously injured a woman and then fled the scene that morning. This person was discovered while taking his car for repair after the accident.

Accordingly, the truck driver who caused the accident was LTA (29 years old, residing in Luu Son commune, Do Luong district). At the police station, this person initially stated that at around 3:00 a.m. on April 29, he was driving a truck carrying vegetables and fruits from Do Luong to Con Cuong. When reaching National Highway 7 through Hoi Son commune (Anh Son), this truck collided with a woman walking on the side of the road. After the accident, the truck driver drove away.

Anh Son District Police then issued a notice to search for the culprit. Through the remaining traces at the scene, the police determined that the car that caused the accident was a 3.5-ton covered open-top or closed-top truck, carrying goods from below in the direction of Anh Son - Con Cuong. The car that caused the accident may have scratches and cracks on the front bumper (gray plastic cover), broken rearview mirror glass, peeled off the right plastic cover, suspected broken passenger side mirror, possibly cracked front windshield, third front bumper, the right side of the car's side bumper is suspected to have signs of impact causing dents and traces of human body (blood, hair... clothes)...

At around 9am the same day, while taking the truck for repair in Do Luong district, TA was discovered by the police and taken to the district police headquarters for investigation. There, TA admitted that the driver had caused the accident. As for the victim, he is currently receiving emergency treatment at Anh Son District Medical Center.
