The economy continues to grow well.

At the working session, the working delegation agreed with the assessment that in 2021 and the first quarter of 2022, the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation in the district achieved many positive results.

Thanks to timely, synchronous, drastic direction and effective implementation of measures, the work of preventing and fighting Covid-19 has been effective. In 2021, the district's economy continued to have a good growth, the structure shifted in a positive direction. The total production value is estimated at nearly 7,100 billion VND. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at more than 2,205 billion VND, the industry - construction sector is estimated at more than 3,142 billion VND, the service sector is estimated at more than 1,748 billion VND.

Tan Ky's total production value growth rate in 2021 reached 7.7%; economic scale ranked 4th out of 11 districts in the West (13/21 localities in the province). The direction and implementation of the public investment plan was carried out vigorously from the beginning of the year. Thanks to that, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province has disbursed 65 billion VND, reaching 100% of the assigned capital plan, reaching 23.64% by the end of April 2022 (ranking 4th in the district, city and town block).

In 2021, the Provincial People's Committee approved the policy of 11 projects in the district, with a total investment of more than 2,091 billion VND and adjusted the project policy with a total investment increase of 40 billion VND. Currently, steps are being taken to build the infrastructure project of Nghia Dung Commune Industrial Cluster with a total investment of 100 billion VND. Although production and business activities face many difficulties, the number of established and operating enterprises has increased.

In addition, attention has been paid to the development of culture and society and ensuring social security. Administrative reform has been promoted, direction and administration have been strongly innovated, and IT has been actively applied to state management activities; national defense, security, and social order and safety have been maintained.

In the first months of 2022, Tan Ky district continued to strengthen the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. Focusing on directing the implementation of tasks on the socio-economic development plan for 2022, in order to concretize the Resolutions of the District People's Council. The district also established Working Groups to direct and promote sectors and fields right from the beginning of the year.

Tan Ky district also proposed 8 groups of solutions and important tasks in the coming time, 7 orientations to strive by 2025, Tan Ky will become a district with fast and sustainable development in the Western region of Nghe An.

At the meeting, leaders of departments and branches analyzed and evaluated the potentials, advantages and pointed out the difficulties and obstacles of Tan Ky district. At the same time, they suggested many new directions for development for the district and proposed solutions to help the district have more conditions for development in the coming time.

Concluding the working session, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assessed that Tan Ky is a difficult district but always shares with the province in implementing socio-economic development tasks.

The district has been proactive, promoted internal strength, and used resources reasonably to carry out tasks. Notably, internal solidarity and people's consensus have been prominent, resulting in efforts and determination, and have achieved some positive results. On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged, highly appreciated, and warmly commended the results that Tan Ky district has achieved in the past time.

Basically agreeing on the tasks, solutions and orientations set out by the district, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district to promote the achieved results, proactiveness, solidarity and unity to implement the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 21st District Party Congress, towards the 60th anniversary of the district's establishment.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung also emphasized 9 contents and requested the district to focus on implementing them well in the coming time. First, Tan Ky continues to closely follow the goals, tasks and solutions according to the Resolution of the 21st District Party Congress, especially the 4 development breakthroughs: Focus on developing high-tech agriculture, forestry and fishery associated with the processing industry; Promote administrative reform, attract investment; Build infrastructure; Develop tourism associated with cultural, historical, spiritual and ecological tourism.

With the hope that in the coming time, Tan Ky will achieve new miracles in socio-economic development, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the district to do a good job of planning scientifically and reasonably, integrating it into the Provincial Planning with a long-term vision but in line with reality, meeting the development requirements in the coming time. In particular, land use planning should be economical and reasonable; attention should be paid to planning mineral resources, not to over-exploit.

On the other hand, Tan Ky needs to prioritize investment resources for infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure and connection infrastructure. Continue to promote the achieved results to promote investment attraction, especially in areas where the district has potential and advantages; in which it is necessary to clearly define the order of priority, select investors with real potential and enthusiasm.

According to comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, to attract investors to the area, Tan Ky district needs to proactively prepare the site, implement the planning of Tan Ky Industrial Park; prepare labor resources; improve the attitude of officials and civil servants and publicize, be transparent and facilitate administrative procedures.

On the other hand, the district needs to pay attention and coordinate with the sectors to effectively implement 3 national target programs: New rural construction, Sustainable poverty reduction, Socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Arrange priority order to propose appropriate necessary lists for effective implementation; Regularly review, strengthen management, inspection, control, and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, ensure the right subjects, correct regulations; avoid profiteering, and policy distortion.

Regarding the potential areas of the district, the head of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that Tan Ky should focus on promoting the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development. In particular, priority should be given to the development of high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, clean agriculture and high-efficiency agriculture. Promote the construction, deployment and replication of effective economic models associated with environmental protection. Effectively implement the program of building new rural areas, trying to have many OCOP products.

For the industrial sector, focus on processing and manufacturing sectors, especially developing products in which the district has advantages such as sugar cane industry, construction materials production..., thereby promoting growth rate and reasonable structural transformation.Invest in developing eco-tourism and community tourism, making tourism an important economic sector.
