Urgent need for a waste treatment plant project in Tan Ky.
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to land clearance issues, the waste treatment plant project in Tan Ky district has not been implemented, causing the local waste disposal area to grow increasingly large and leading to environmental pollution.

For a long time, the peopleTan Ky districtResidents, especially those living near the district's waste disposal site (Tan Long commune's landfill), are particularly upset because the waste has not been processed for a long time, causing environmental pollution.
According to the reporter's observations, the storage areawasteIn Valley 70, the debris currently stretches for hundreds of meters, piled up to 2-3 meters high, estimated to be thousands of cubic meters.3Due to a long period without proper treatment, it has caused air and water pollution.

Local residents report that dozens of trucks transport waste from surrounding communes and dump it indiscriminately here every day. Due to the lack of proper disposal over time, the amount of waste is increasing. During rainy periods, black, foul-smelling water flows from the waste dump into streams and creeks; annually, when the local authorities dispose of the waste by burning it, the smoke lingers for months, negatively impacting air quality.
The people want the local authorities to regularly address the issue, or for the government to invest in building a waste treatment plant as soon as possible to avoid it.environmental pollution.

Speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tan Ky district, said: "Thung 70 in Tan Long commune is the district's waste disposal area, so local authorities transport waste here daily. While the district has assigned Tan Long commune to handle it manually, the sheer volume has led to prolonged accumulation of waste."
Given this urgent situation, following a proposal from Tan Ky district, on November 17, 2020, the Provincial People's Committee approved the plan to build the Tan Ky solid and liquid waste treatment plant project in Tan Long commune, with a planned area of over 33,492 m².2The total project capital is 158 billion VND.
Of this planned area, more than 33,333 m²2This is land for perennial crops, belonging to the 5% public land managed by the Tan Long Commune People's Committee, and has been allocated to 4 households for production. The remaining area is over 159 m².2Managed by the People's Committee of Tan Long Commune.
Accordingly, the Tan Ky District People's Committee has developed a compensation and support plan.land clearanceAccording to state regulations, to implement the investment project for the construction of a solid and liquid waste treatment plant in Tan Ky district, an area of over 33,492 m² of land will be reclaimed.2The amount is over 2.117 billion VND. This compensation and support plan for land clearance has been appraised by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. On April 28, 2022, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment sent a document to the Provincial People's Committee regarding the appraisal of the compensation and support plan for land acquisition for the construction of a solid and liquid waste treatment plant in Tan Long commune, Tan Ky district. Currently, Tan Ky district is awaiting the Provincial People's Committee's approval of the compensation and support plan for land acquisition for the project.
DTo date, 3/4 of the households have agreed to the state's compensation and support plan; one household remains unagreed. After the Provincial People's Committee approves the compensation and support plan for land acquisition for this project, Tan Ky district will find a solution to acquire land from this remaining household to expedite the project's implementation.
