(Baonghean.vn) - Western Nghe An districts such as Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son currently lack many bridges for people. During the rainy season, many people have to risk their lives wading through streams, or use rafts and ropes to pull each other across streams.

Following the forest road, we entered Khe Nong village - Chau Khe commune, district.Con Cuong. This is the most difficult village in the district because from the commune center, to get here, you have to cross 4 streams. According to the people here, it is easy in the dry season, but in the rainy season, the village is isolated, people in Khe Nong village want to travel, they have to swim or use ropes to pull each other across the streams.

Due to the difficulty of transportation, especially during the rainy season when the water level of streams and creeks rises, agricultural products here are often blocked and cannot be consumed. Khe Nong village currently has 50 households, mainly Dan Lai people, the poverty rate is still 100% and the village also does not have electricity. The desire of the people here is for the State to pay attention to building bridges for people to facilitate traffic.

Ban Diem, Chau Khe commune currently has a residential area of 15 households living on the other side of Khe It. In recent rainy days, the stream has flooded, isolating the households.

Mr. Kha Van Thuong - Chairman of Chau Khe Commune People's Committee said: Villages are isolated during the rainy season, it is very difficult to supply food to people.

Currently, the commune is proposing to the People's Committee of Con Cuong district to survey and plan to build 5 temporary spillways to overcome floods for people to cross streams because the cost of building a solid bridge is too large to be implemented.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district, from 2020 to present, with socialized capital, the whole district has built 3people's bridgesmall type in Que village (Binh Chuan commune), Ke Ke and Ke Trai villages (Thach Ngan commune). Currently, the whole district is still lacking about 20 communal bridges, mainly concentrated in Chi Khe, Binh Chuan, Chau Khe, Mon Son and Thach Ngan communes.

To solve the above difficulties, Con Cuong district is continuing to call on organizations and philanthropists to join hands in supporting the construction of bridges for people. Currently, Con Cuong district still has dozens of locations across streams and creeks without bridges. The district is surveying and calculating plans to build temporary spillways for people to cross. Some locations in Chi Khe, Binh Chuan, Cam Lam, if the capital is balanced, will build more suspension bridges for people...

The suspension bridge in Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district has a low load capacity. While transporting raw glue, people have to take a detour to Anh Son district, nearly 20 km away. Photo: Van Truong

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Con Cuong district said: The district currently has 6 suspension bridges across the Lam River, in fact, the suspension bridges are all degraded, low load capacity, the communes on the left bank of Con Cuong during the harvest season of agricultural products, raw acacia must be transported by a detour to Cay Chanh, Dinh Son commune, an additional 20 km, costing farmers a lot of transportation costs.

Currently, Con Cuong district is urgently constructing Thanh Nam bridge (permanent concrete bridge) across Lam river through Bong Khe commune. After being put into use, this bridge will shorten the distance of transporting agricultural products and raw acacia to the communes on the left bank of Lam river.

Also in the same situation, currently Ky Son district has many villages that are "thirsty" for people's livelihood. For example, in My Ly commune, there are currently 2 border villages bordering Laos that are often isolated during heavy rains.

Mr. Luong Van Bay - Chairman of My Ly Commune People's Committee shared: Currently, Cha Nga village is 26 km from the commune center, which is very difficult. The village has 97 households, over 400 people, to cross the stream, the commune mobilized to build a temporary bridge made of bamboo and wood, but in the rainy season, the water rose, the bridge was washed away, and the people were isolated again.

My Ly commune also has Nhot Lot village with 36 households, over 200 people, in the rainy season people have to use boats to cross Nhot Lot stream which is quite dangerous. Currently, the commune has proposed to the district People's Committee to support people to build a bridge to cross the flood.

From 2020 to now, with funding from the State and charitable organizations, Ky Son district has built 6 bridges for people. Currently, the district needs to build about 20 mountainous bridges for people to serve the people, not to mention that along the Nam Mo river, there are currently 2 degraded suspension bridges.

Currently, the district is continuing to attract investment from State capital sources, programs, projects, businesses, and charitable organizations to support the construction of people's bridges./.
