This morning, nearly 40,000 candidates in Nghe An officially took the 10th grade entrance exam.
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the exam with the largest number of candidates registering for grade 10 in nearly 10 years.
This morning, nearly 40,000 candidates across the province will enter the first day of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2022-2023 school year.

At the Quynh Luu 1 High School exam site, this year there were 816 candidates taking the exam and it was the exam site with the largest number of candidates in Quynh Luu district. Since 6am this morning, candidates from many localities in the district have come to the exam site to complete procedures.
The cool morning weather also made the candidates feel comfortable on the first day of the exam. Candidate Nguyen Thi Thu Trang - a student at Quynh My Primary and Secondary School said: I felt a bit nervous on the first day of the exam, but I believe I was well prepared for this exam. Last night, I also went to bed early to create a comfortable spirit.

Her house is 7 kilometers away from the exam site, so this morning, candidate Ho Thi My Duyen from An Hoa Secondary School also arrived at the exam site very early. This candidate said that although Nguyen Duc Mau High School is near her house, in her class there were still 7 candidates who registered for Quynh Luu 1 High School with the hope of being admitted to the best public school in the district.
This year, the whole province has 71 examination councils and 73 examination sites, of which Huynh Thuc Khang High School and Ha Huy Tap High School have two examination councils due to the large number of candidates taking the exam.

To prepare for this year’s exam, Nghe An province has mobilized more than 5,600 teachers, security and medical staff to monitor and protect exam sites. In addition to high school teachers, many exam sites have had to mobilize secondary school teachers to participate as invigilators and backup invigilators.

The 10th grade entrance exam is an important exam and is considered to be highly competitive with the admission rate reaching only 75 - 80%, in which some schools only reached over 50% such as in Vinh city, Hung Nguyen and Dien Chau district. This year's exam has many new features when for the first time Nghe An applied a coefficient for three subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language.

The results of the 10th grade entrance exam will also be a basis for admission to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. This morning, candidates will take the Literature exam in essay format for 120 minutes and in the afternoon, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam for 60 minutes./.
