(Baonghean.vn) - After 150 minutes of taking the test, this afternoon the candidates completed the entrance exam to specialized schools in Nghe An province. This is also the final exam of this year's 10th grade entrance exam.

Many candidates are confident in their work.

Candidates for the French major class first walked out of the exam room at the Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. Many candidates were quite confident about their test results and had high expectations for this year's exam.

Candidate Hoang Quan - Le Loi Secondary School, Vinh City said: "The French exam was quite difficult, especially the part about nominalization that required a lot of reasoning. However, I did quite well, completed the exam and expected to get 18 points."

Previously, Hoang Quan also completed the 10th grade entrance exam quite well and said that he was not too worried about the base score, so this would be the basis for being admitted to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Leaving the exam room quite early, candidate Pham Nguyen Tuan Ba - a student at Ha Huy Tap Secondary School, Vinh city, was not too satisfied with his English exam.

"I think this year's exam is quite difficult, especially the reading part because there are questions that I feel I can't find in the text, even though I've read them over and over again. For the other questions, I find the rewriting part quite difficult, I finished all 5 questions but I don't know if they were correct or not, I'm confident in the listening part..." - Ba shared.

English is also the subject with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam, so this student also said that he was not too confident in his results. However, Tuan Ba was not too worried because he had previously obtained an IELTS certificate of 7.5 and was "open door" to be admitted directly to the school.

With the History and Geography majors, most candidates leaving the exam room felt comfortable and said that the exam was easier than previous years and that there were many questions that only required a solid grasp of the knowledge in the textbooks to do well.

Candidate Cao Thanh Nga - Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, Vinh City said: "I did three papers of History this year and found that the questions in this year's exam were not too difficult. However, the exam was quite long and we almost did not have time to check our work."

Regarding the Geography exam, candidate Cao Gia Bao - Ton Quang Phiet Secondary School, Thanh Chuong District commented: "This year's exam did not have a comparison section like traditional exams, so we did quite well. As for part 3 (question 1), we almost could not do it because the question "analyze the relationship between air pressure distribution and rainfall distribution on Earth" is part of the 6th grade curriculum and we did not review much. In fact, I only wrote according to my understanding but I was not very confident."

Don't rest on your laurels

For candidates taking the Literature major exam, most of them were interested in this year's exam, especially the Social Essay section, which required writing an essay with the title "Behind the victories".

After completing the test, the group of candidates from Quynh Thien Secondary School, Hoang Mai town excitedly said: "With this test, we have a lot of evidence to include such as the victory of the Vietnamese team at the 31st SEA Games, the victory of Vietnam in the two resistance wars against France and America..."

Not surprised by this year's topic despite the new structure, contestant Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh - Quynh Thien Secondary School added: "I have quite a few ideas for my essay. In my opinion, behind the victories, we have to look back at the process of how hard we have worked, the sweat and the hard work. Remembering the victories makes us proud but we also do not fall asleep and must try harder in the future because time waits for no one."

Nguyen Thi Binh Nguyen – a student at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, Vinh City, was also quite confident about her test. However, the contestant who won second prize in the Provincial Literature Competition for Excellent Students felt a bit “regretful” and thought that if she had 2 more minutes, her test would have been more complete.

Sharing his views on "behind victory", Binh Nguyen added: "From this exam, we can also relate to ourselves because behind the victory of each individual, there is indispensable help from those around. As for me, my achievements are due to the encouragement and help of my family and the dedicated guidance and support of my teachers and friends."
