Ban Ve Hydropower Plant informs people in downstream areas about disaster prevention and control work
(Baonghean.vn) - From June 15 to 16, in Yen Na and Xa Luong communes and Thach Giam town, Ban Ve Hydropower Company coordinated with local authorities of Tuong Duong district and the North Central Hydrometeorological Forecasting Center to organize a communication conference on the functions of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and disaster prevention and control.
Attending the conference were representatives of Tuong Duong district leaders and local authorities of Yen Na, Xa Luong communes and Thach Giam town; heads of blocks, villages and many people in the areas.

At the conference, people were presented with the role of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant in the operation of the plant during the flood and dry seasons, as well as information on the scale, production and operation of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and the economic and environmental benefits that the plant brings to the locality during its operation; at the same time, difficulties and challenges in ensuring safe and stable electricity supply, water supply for irrigation to best meet the needs of socio-economic development and daily life of people in the area were clearly stated.

Regarding the flood prevention and control plan for the downstream area of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant in 2022, the company has provided information on the coordination of reservoir operation and regulation between the company and local authorities in the downstream area of the plant during the dry season and the rainy and flood season. The Ban Ve Hydropower Plant construction project was approved by the Prime Minister as an investment project in Decision No. 665/QD-TTg dated June 19, 2003 with an installed capacity of 320 MW. The project is built on the Nam Non River, in Yen Na Commune, Tuong Duong District. Construction started on August 7, 2004 with a total investment of VND 7,800 billion. Unit 1 generated electricity on April 10, 2010, Unit 2 generated electricity on May 19, 2010.
Up to now, after 12 years of operation, the unit has successfully completed major goals such as: Flood reduction, ensuring drought prevention and water supply for downstream areas, producing more than 1 billion kWh of electricity per year. Safely operating the plant to maximize the amount of electricity generated to the system; Safely operating the reservoir according to the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Ca River Basin during the annual flood season...
In addition, Ban Ve Hydropower Company always accompanies the locality in doing well social security work, repaying gratitude, supporting ethnic minorities, supporting healthcare, education... By June 2022, the electricity output of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has reached nearly 12 billion kWh, and contributed thousands of billions of VND to the State budget.
