(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office, by 2025, Nghe An strives to have at least 337 communes meeting new rural standards (of which, 135 communes meet advanced new rural standards, equivalent to 40% of new rural communes; 34 communes meet model new rural standards, 11 new rural districts.

Nghe An continues to build advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas for communes and districts that have been recognized as meeting New Rural standards, striving to have at least 11 district-level units meeting standards/completing the task of building new rural areas (including: 1-2 district-level units meeting advanced new rural standards and Nam Dan district meeting model new rural standards in the direction of developing culture associated with tourism approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 17/QD-TTg dated January 4, 2019).

There are 200 extremely disadvantaged villages, hamlets, and communes in Region III and border communes that meet the new rural standards according to the set of criteria. There are 800 new rural standard gardens that meet the standards according to the set of criteria.

To achieve that goal, the task of building new rural areas in this period is: Improving the efficiency of management and implementing new rural construction according to the planning to improve the economic and social life of rural areas associated with the urbanization process; Developing basically synchronous and modern economic and social infrastructure, ensuring rural-urban connectivity and regional connectivity; Continuing to effectively restructure the agricultural sector, developing the rural economy; developing rural tourism; improving the operational efficiency of cooperatives; supporting start-up businesses in rural areas; improving the quality of vocational training for rural workers... contributing to increasing people's income in a sustainable manner.

Another task is to sustainably reduce poverty, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; Improve the quality of education, health care and healthcare for rural people; Improve the quality of cultural life of rural people; Preserve and promote traditional cultural values ​​in a sustainable manner associated with rural tourism development; Improve environmental quality; build bright - green - clean - beautiful, safe rural landscapes; preserve and restore traditional rural landscapes.

In addition, promote and improve the quality of public administrative services; improve the quality of grassroots government operations; promote digital transformation in new rural areas, increase the application of information technology, digital technology, build smart new rural areas; ensure and enhance access to law for people; strengthen solutions to ensure gender equality and prevent gender-based violence; Build Nam Dan district into a model new rural district; Build new rural areas in villages, hamlets, and communes; Build new rural standard gardens.

The capital allocated for this phase is implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Investment, the Law on Public Debt Management, the Law on State Budget and relevant legal documents.

The leader of the NTM coordination office said: Priority will be given to support communes and districts that have not met the new rural standards, and communes that have met less than 15 criteria; Support communes that have met the new rural standards to continue to improve the new rural criteria that have met the standards but the standard level of some criteria is not high enough to improve the quality of the criteria and ensure sustainability.

It is known that in the 2021-2025 period, the central budget will be allocated to implement specialized programs approved by the Prime Minister, including: Science and Technology Program serving new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period; Program to strengthen environmental protection, food safety and rural clean water supply in new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period; Program to develop rural tourism associated with new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period; Program for one product per commune in the 2021-2025 period; Program for digital transformation in new rural construction, towards smart new rural areas in the 2021-2025 period; Program to improve the quality and effectiveness of implementing security and order criteria in new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period... The capital source will be approved by the Provincial People's Council in the upcoming session.
