Russia reaffirms main purpose of military campaign in Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently reaffirmed that the purpose of the "special military operation" in Ukraine is still to protect people in the Donbass region - Eastern Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Peskov stressed that Russia's main goal in Ukraine is to "save and secure" Donbass from what he considered "brutal attacks" by Ukrainian armed forces.
In addition, the Kremlin representative announced that Russia is maintaining contact with Türkiye on the issue of grain exports from Ukraine, but there are still many uncertainties from Kiev.
Türkiye said on June 15 that it would "take time" to clear mines and bombs from Ukrainian ports, but that a safe sea corridor in areas free of mines and bombs must be established as proposed by the United Nations.
Russia claims to have provided “safe passage” for Ukrainian grain shipments from Black Sea ports but is not responsible for the creation of these corridors.
A day later, Russia said it was facilitating the export of grain and oilseeds from Ukraine through Moscow-controlled transit points on the Sea of Azov, but did not specify the source of supply.
