During a business trip to Nghia Dan district in May 2022, we met Mr. Le Minh Huyen, Secretary of the Party Branch of Canh Yen village, Nghia Yen commune, Nghia Dan district. Through our conversation, we were truly impressed to learn that Mr. Huyen has held the position of Party Branch Secretary for 14 years (from 2008 to the present). In each period, Mr. Huyen has always been enthusiastic and persistent in his assigned responsibilities, always leading and setting an example in emulation movements for socio-economic development.

As a responsible Party member and Party branch secretary, Mr. Le Minh Huyen, along with his colleagues in the Party committee and branch, regularly mobilizes the people to comply well with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, actively contributing to building new rural areas and making villages and communes more prosperous. In particular, for many years, Mr. Huyen and the Party committee have actively propagated to Party members and the people to raise their vigilance against false narratives and the "peaceful evolution" schemes of hostile forces.

“In the era of widespread internet use and the explosion of multi-directional information on social media, information from the press, especially Party newspapers, plays a very valuable role in guiding public opinion. Nowadays, people use social media a lot, but sometimes they cannot distinguish between truth and falsehood when accessing information there. Therefore, it is even more necessary for the propaganda staff at all levels, cadres, and Party members at the grassroots level to promptly grasp official information to disseminate and explain to the people, and refute false information,” said Ms. Cao Thi Minh Nguyet, Head of the Propaganda Department of Thai Hoa Town Party Committee. Ms. Nguyet added that Nghe An Newspaper has been doing a good job of guiding public opinion. When information about the conspiracies and tactics of hostile forces or specific cases of acts against the Party and State, even if it is in a different area, the Propaganda Department of Thai Hoa town promptly compiles and disseminates it to cadres, Party members, and the people, thereby effectively preventing such activities.

Timely refutation of false and hostile arguments.
Our country's comprehensive reform process has achieved outstanding results, as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once affirmed, "Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today." This is the result of the persistent efforts of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, inheriting the revolutionary traditions of our ancestors. However, every day, hostile forces continue to undermine our country's development through various tactics and conspiracies of "peaceful evolution." These hostile forces use the guise of "social criticism," fighting for "democracy," "human rights," building "civil society," and protecting sovereignty and territory... to slander and distort the Party and State's guidelines, policies, and strategies; and to incite hostile thoughts and attitudes.
Particularly in recent times, as our Party and State have proactively intensified the fight against ideological and political degradation, moral decay, and lifestyle deviations, as well as manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation," and the handling of errant officials, hostile forces have sought every means to distort and fabricate information with the aim of hindering the revolutionary cause and the reform process; distorting Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought. At specific times, hostile forces thoroughly exploit difficulties, obstacles, and newly arising issues to intensify and fiercely oppose our country with a series of new, sophisticated, and cunning arguments and tactics.
Therefore, the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation and the country's development always requires continuous effort. Along with the system of press agencies, Nghe An Newspaper has actively participated in this work in print, online, and on social media. To date, the online version of Nghe An Newspaper has thousands of articles, with over 200 articles in the first six months of 2022 alone, clearly analyzing the conspiracies and distorted narratives of hostile forces, which have been shared on social media. In the print version, the weekly column "Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation" is maintained. All of this has become important material for cadres, Party members, and the people to follow and understand the information.

Evaluating the work of Nghe An Newspaper in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating false and hostile viewpoints, Comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - stated: Nghe An Newspaper quickly grasped public opinion and produced many high-quality articles. All articles clearly expressed the viewpoint of the entire political system and the people in strengthening the struggle to thwart all conspiracies and activities of "peaceful evolution" by hostile forces; proactively preventing and refuting false and hostile viewpoints.
According to Comrade Pham Ngoc Canh, in recent years, hostile forces, reactionary elements, and political opportunists have thoroughly exploited the internet and social media to undermine our country's revolution. Based on this reality, in collaboration with Nghe An Newspaper and its team of contributors, numerous articles have been published to defend the Party's ideological foundation, clearly analyzing the schemes and tactics of hostile forces. These articles are published on the online newspaper and then shared on social media, refuting harmful and toxic information. This contributes to the political system's efforts to educate the public and encourage their participation in the struggle against false and hostile viewpoints.
We will continue to direct, encourage, and support Nghe An Newspaper in this area to work together with all levels, sectors, and the people to protect the Party's ideological foundation and combat the "peaceful evolution" plots and activities of hostile forces in the ideological and cultural fields. This is an important task, both immediate and long-term, for the entire political system under the Party's leadership. We must be flexible, proactive, and closely combine "construction" and "combat," prioritizing "construction," contributing to political and ideological stability, security, and order, and creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
