Three impoverished women found 52 million VND and returned it to the owner.

On the morning of June 22nd, at the Ngoc Lam Commune Police Station, in the presence of police officers, three women, Vi Thi Mau (30 years old), Vi Thi Pa (26 years old), and Vi Thi Am (47 years old), residing in Tan Ngoc village, Ngoc Lam commune, returned 52 million VND they had found to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Giap (37 years old), residing in Hamlet 4, Thanh Huong Commune (Thanh Chuong District).

Ms. Vi Thi Mau stated that on the night of June 21st, she, along with Ms. Pa and Ms. Am, went frog and fish hunting to improve their meals. Around 10 PM that night, the three women found a dropped raincoat near the Vuon Uom bridge in Thanh Huong commune. Thinking it was just a raincoat, Ms. Mau took it home to use. Upon opening it, she found several bundles of money (counting 52 million VND) along with some personal documents belonging to the owner. That same night, they contacted the owner to return the money.

The following morning, the women brought the money to the Ngoc Lam Commune Police Station. After confirming that Mr. Nguyen Xuan Giap, residing in Thanh Huong Commune, was the owner of the money, in the presence of the police officers, the women returned the money to Mr. Giap.

It is known that the three sisters, Vi Thi Mau, Vi Thi Pa, and Vi Thi Am, are all poor farmers with difficult family circumstances. Every day they work making glue to earn extra income. Mr. Giap, a mechanic, had just received his wages from the homeowner that night. He carelessly hung his bag of money on the hook of his motorbike, and it fell off while he was traveling. Mr. Giap has also posted information about the lost item on social media, hoping to get his property back.

Major Nguyen Van Hung, Head of Ngoc Lam Commune Police, shared: "These women deserve to be commended because their lives are still very difficult. They have to go out at night to earn a living, but when they found a large sum of money, they did not hesitate to immediately find the owner to return it."

Speaking about this act of kindness, Mr. Vi Van Tuyen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ngoc Lam commune, said: "These women are good people doing good deeds in the middle of the vast forest. Although hunger and poverty are surrounding their families, with their honest nature and compassion for others, and thinking of the large sum of money, which was the sweat and tears of the person who lost it, they were determined to find the owner and return it."
