Quy Chau voters propose investment in building a bridge to replace Vai Chon spillway bridge

DT.544 route was upgraded from a district road on July 22, 2016 according to Decision No. 3552/UBND-CN of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee. At the time of upgrading to a provincial road, the road surface was damaged and degraded in many places, the longitudinal ditches were eroded, the culverts and spillways had many trays and cones eroded...

In recent times, the Department of Transport has strengthened the direction of management units to carry out regular maintenance work to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic, ensuring stable traffic infrastructure. In addition, from 2018-2019, resources have been mobilized to invest in repairing the road surface and works on some sections of the route with a total cost of 7.1 billion VND (Km0+00 - Km4+00; Km22+650 - Km26+00, DT.544).

For Vai Chon spillway at Km25+250, DT.544, with a length of 145m (including the concrete road at the spillway head); 5.5m wide; currently the spillway is still basically in good condition. However, during the rainy season, the spillway is often flooded locally for about 2-3 days, with the highest water level being 2.5m. To ensure traffic safety, during the rainy season, Nghe An Department of Transport regularly directs the management unit to coordinate with local authorities to organize 24/24-hour guard duty, arrange barriers, and regulate traffic; after each storm, clear soil, rocks, tree branches, and firewood on the spillway surface to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles passing by.

The content of the voters' proposal on investing in the construction of a bridge to replace the current Vai Chon spillway is very necessary. However, due to many difficulties and limitations in resources; the investment in the construction of the bridge requires a large amount of funding, therefore, the Department of Transport would like to acknowledge and accept the opinions of the voters of Quy Chau district.

In the coming time, the Department will continue to direct the work of ensuring traffic safety along the entire route, especially at culverts that are often flooded, and will invest in bridge construction when capital conditions are ensured.
