(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Wesley Kremer, head of Raytheon Technology Corporation, a partner of the Pentagon, criticized the US military for not being able to deal with hypersonic weapons in case of attack.

In an interview with the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, Mr. Kremer noted that this direction is "still in its infancy"; specifically, Raytheon is currently the only corporation conducting research on defense systems against hypersonic missiles.

Raytheon employees now rely on satellite constellations to provide early warning of possible attacks from military complexes, Kremer said. In addition, the most sensitive point of a hypersonic missile is the cooling system, if it fails, the entire system will stop working.

Meanwhile, Mr. Andy Tomis, Chairman of the British weapons manufacturer Cohort Group, also commented to the newspaper. He noted that the British Navy is interested in developing means to counter hypersonic weapons, but this is "a very complex task".

Earlier, an analyst from The National Interest commented on the strange reaction of US officials to Russian President Vladimir Putin's message regarding the Sarmat ballistic missile test. According to this analyst, the Washington administration seems to not perceive the threat to the country and its allies.

Suppose if Russia attacked the US territory via Antarctica with the Sarmat missile, such a flight trajectory of this missile would allow the Russian military to take advantage of the limitations in the operating area of the US early warning radar system./.
