(Baonghean.vn) - Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) has just continued to support the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Poor Patients with a budget of VND 500 million for the Association to carry out a free heart surgery program for poor children with congenital heart disease in 2022.

This activity has been carried out by Vinamilk since 1995, contributing to providing treatment and healthy living opportunities for poor patients, including many young children across the country. Through funding of up to 7.2 billion VND, Vinamilk has helped nearly 1,300 poor patients with heart and eye surgery, including many children with congenital heart disease who received surgery, giving them more opportunities to live with a healthy heart.

Mr. Do Thanh Tuan - Director of External Relations of Vinamilk (left) represented the donation of funds to support the free heart surgery program for children in difficult circumstances.

Nguyen Tuong Vy, born in 2007, is a lucky case that Vinamilk supported her with heart surgery and is living a healthy life, living normally like her peers. 8 years ago, Vy still had a terrible congenital heart disease, the hospital had to prescribe early surgery. However, her family is in extremely difficult circumstances, her father is a security guard, her mother is a factory worker so her income is not stable. The whole family of 7 lives in a level 4 house of just over 30 square meters. Thanks to the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Poor Patients and benefactors, including Vinamilk, Tuong Vy was able to have free heart surgery. Currently, her health is stable and she is preparing to enter the beautiful days of high school.

Another case is Ky Duyen (born in 2017), who also received support for heart surgery 4 years ago. At that time, Duyen's father was a carpenter, but as a student, his income was less than 3 million/month, while his mother stayed at home to take care of the child, and the whole family spent a monthly rent because they moved from Binh Thuan to Ho Chi Minh City. Seeing Duyen comfortably moving and playing, everyone was moved when they learned that she and her family had gone through a difficult time, because from a young age, Ky Duyen was born weak, had to be regularly monitored and examined at the hospital and could not afford the cost of surgery when the doctor ordered early surgery. With the support from the program, Duyen's life has turned a new page. She is currently in kindergarten and is developing healthily.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ranh, Vice President of the Association for Supporting Poor Patients, expressed his appreciation for the kindness of the past time. Despite the difficult Covid-19 pandemic, Vinamilk still maintains a budget to support poor children across the country.“Without the help of sponsors like Vinamilk, the Association would not have the funds to perform free heart and eye surgeries for sick children.”, Mr. Ranh shared.

Nearly 30 years of association with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of Poor Patients through heart surgery and eye surgery programs, Vinamilk realizes that this is a meaningful and humane program that the Association has dedicated to the community, especially for children in difficult circumstances with heart and eye diseases. For children with heart disease, we need to quickly treat them in time to help them have healthy hearts like other children, lighting up their hope and belief in a beautiful life ahead. Vinamilk hopes that the love of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of Poor Patients and Vinamilk's support over the past time will not only help the children have healthier bodies and a better chance to live, but also motivate them to continue sowing other good seeds for society in the future.
