Nearly 1,500 Ford Rangers - the best-selling pickup truck in Vietnam - have just been recalled by the American car company to fix a defect related to the front windshield.

In the context of the new generation not yet launched, Ford Ranger has attracted attention when nearly 1,500 cars in Vietnam were "sentenced" to be recalled.

1,444 Ford Ranger vehicles in Vietnam due to windshield related errors.

Specifically, according to an announcement by Ford Vietnam, the company is recalling 1,444 Ford Ranger vehicles in Vietnam due to windshield-related errors. These vehicles were determined to be manufactured between January 9 and July 9, 2021 and used a windshield adhesive layer that did not meet design standards.

In the announcement related to this recall, Ford Vietnam said this could adversely affect the passenger airbag deployment and inflation position, adversely affect the passenger airbag's performance in holding the vehicle occupant and affect the durability of the vehicle's hood.

Ford Ranger is currently the best-selling model in the pickup segment with total sales reaching 6,433 vehicles after the first half of 2022.

To fix this problem, Ford Vietnam is working with the dealer to conduct an inspection. Regarding the solution, the American car company said it will use new PU glue to reassemble the windshield to increase adhesion according to technical instructions.

This inspection and re-gluing is done completely free of charge (including parts and installation). The time required for this inspection and re-gluing is approximately 3 hours. However, due to repair planning requirements, some dealers may hold the vehicle for a longer period.

At the end of the first half of 2022, Ford Ranger is currently the best-selling model in the pickup segment with total sales of 6,433 vehicles. Recently, information has appeared about the new generation of Ford Ranger, this pickup model is expected to launch a new model in Vietnam in the near future.
