(Baonghean.vn) - In recent years, Tam Hop border commune has not only prospered in terms of economy and culture, but is also a stable area in terms of security and order. That peace is thanks to the Party Committee, government, and armed units joining hands with the people to ensure security and order, saying no to violations of the law.

Prevent and promptly handle violations

In the early days of August, in the villages of Tam Hop border commune, Tuong Duong district, students are still on summer vacation. Under the roofs of houses nestled under the cool shade of trees, children run and play happily. Most of the adults have gone to the fields, while the elderly stay at home to look after the children. It seems that they are used to the image of police officers, border guards and commune officials visiting the village, the children greet them politely and friendly.

Mr. Le Hong Thai - Secretary of the Party Committee of Tam Hop commune said that to keep the peace for the people, it is the constant efforts of the villages, hamlets and armed forces stationed in the area. In addition, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee also regularly directs and improves the effectiveness of the activities of the government, the Fatherland Front and organizations in performing socio-economic, defense and security tasks, especially in coordinating to resolve sudden, prominent and urgent cases, not allowing hot spots to arise.

In addition, the regular police force in the commune has also actively coordinated with the Commune Military Command and Tam Hop Border Guard Station to grasp the situation, patrol, control the area, and keep peace for people to work and produce with peace of mind. Most recently, Tam Hop Commune Police handled 1 case, 3 subjects for disturbing public order, each subject was fined 1,500,000 VND.

As a border commune with a large forest area that needs to be protected, forest protection is always a concern of Tam Hop commune authorities and people. In just the first 6 months of 2022, the police, border guards, militia and self-defense forces and village and hamlet self-management groups in Tam Hop commune coordinated to organize 44 patrols and 98 days of forest inspection, detected and handled 2 cases of forest law violations, and seized 2,142 m3 wood. In addition to activities to prevent violations of forest protection, the use of illegal weapons and violations of traffic safety corridors are also promptly handled. Since the beginning of the year, organizations and functional forces in the area have mobilized people to hand over 15 homemade guns, 1 electric shocker; mobilized 5 households to collect construction materials, and signed a commitment with 2 households building houses along the Vang Mon - Huoi Son road not to encroach on the traffic corridor.

On the other hand, with the terrain being mainly mountainous, steep, with many streams and ravines, on the border with Laos, there are many small roads and trails, posing a potential risk for drug smuggling and transportation through the area. Determined not to let the border area of Tam Hop commune become a complicated area for drugs, in May 2022, the Tam Hop commune government coordinated with the Provincial Police, District Police and the commune to "launch" the pilot model of "Narcotics-free border commune". The Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune have issued resolutions and plans to implement the contents to implement this model.

Keep the border quiet

Identifying that border protection is not only the task of the functional forces but also the responsibility of the entire people, the Party Committee and government of Tam Hop commune always attach importance to coordinating and supporting the Border Guard force in patrolling, protecting the border, landmarks, and border security.

Major Ngo Van Thien - Political Commissar of Tam Hop Border Guard Station said: The unit always receives coordination from the Party Committee, the commune government and the police forces, militia and self-defense forces, and village and hamlet self-management groups in managing, strictly controlling, and promptly handling issues arising at the border as well as managing border gates and carrying out exit and entry procedures for people crossing the border.

In the first half of 2022, Tam Hop Border Guard Station has developed a plan and deployed 5 patrols to protect the border and border markers with the participation of 28 officers, soldiers and 14 police and militia comrades. At the same time, a specific plan was issued to effectively implement the Project "Border Guards participate in building political bases for communes, blocks, hamlets and villages in the border area of Nghe An province, period 2022-2026 and the following years" of the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee.

Officers and soldiers of Tam Hop Border Guard Station also regularly coordinate with Party committees and authorities to conduct mobile propaganda in Mong language about policies and laws related to preventing and combating human trafficking, reducing child marriage and incestuous marriage, and regulations on border protection. In particular, in recent years, when the Mong ethnic minority in Pha Lom appeared, some subjects secretly spread Protestantism illegally, disrupting the lives of the people.

Tam Hop Border Guard Station has also coordinated with local organizations to raise awareness among people to raise vigilance, not to participate in helping bad guys propagate and develop illegal religions; focus on production, socio-economic development and preserve the cultural identity of their ethnic groups; coordinate with the Party cell, village management board, village elders, prestigious people, and clan leaders to fight and strongly oppose illegal proselytizing, and mobilize households that follow Protestantism to abandon illegal proselytizing activities in the area. At the same time, many activities have been implemented to help Pha Lom village build a new countryside. Currently, Pha Lom village has achieved 8/13 criteria and is striving to achieve the new rural village status in 2022.

“The Party Committee and the local government regularly coordinate with the Border Guard Station and the Commune Police force to seriously maintain a working group in Pha Lom village to monitor and supervise so that illegal Protestant activities do not gather. At the same time, they coordinate with the Lau clan to propagate and mobilize the Lau Song Lenh household to abandon their religion and rebuild their ancestral altar. They coordinate to propagate and mobilize the Xong Da Xu household to move their camp out of the Dao tree slope area (within the protective forest area). The solidarity, unanimity, and cooperation between the Party Committee, local government, armed units, and people have created motivation for Pha Lom village in particular, and the villages and hamlets in Tam Hop commune in general, to gradually rise out of poverty, ensure security, order, and keep the border area peaceful,” affirmed Le Hong Thai, Secretary of the Tam Hop Commune Party Committee.
