(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 17, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022), the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022), the leaders of Nghe An province received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to Vietnam and the leaders of 7 provinces of the Lao PDR.

Attending the ceremony, on the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.On the Lao side, there were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to Vietnam Sengphet Hung Bun Nhuong; members of the Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party: Bunchan Sivong Phan - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Xieng Khouang Province; Vanxay Pheng-xum-ma - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Hua Phan Province; Khamphan Sit-thi-dam-pha - Secretary, Governor of Vientiane Province; Vanxay Phong-savan - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Kham Muon Province; Su-van-ni Xay-xa-na - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Region 11, Chairman of the People's Council of Bolikhamxay Province; Vong-son In-pan-phim - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Xay Xom Bun Province; Linh-thoong Seng-ta-van - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor of Savannakhet Province.

At the courtesy visit, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of Nghe An provincial leaders, expressed his joy in welcoming the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to Vietnam and leaders of 7 provinces of the Lao PDR to visit and work in Nghe An.

The Provincial Party Secretary expressed his emotion and affirmed that the visit of the Ambassador and leaders of 7 Lao provinces demonstrated the good cooperative and friendly relationship between Nghe An and Lao provinces. Welcoming the "Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year", Nghe An province solemnly organized the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 45th Anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

In the past time, the Ambassador and the leaders of 7 provinces of the Lao PDR have given special affection, support and valuable assistance to Nghe An, thereby encouraging Nghe An to be more active and responsible in protecting, preserving and developing this sacred and invaluable relationship. On this occasion, the leaders of Nghe An province presented gifts to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to Vietnam and the leaders of 7 provinces of Laos.

Located in the center of the North Central region, Nghe An province has the largest natural area in the country with nearly 16,500 km2 and the longest common border with Laos, more than 468 km, spanning 6 districts and 27 communes of the province. The natural terrain, history and culture of the border area between Nghe An province and Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan and Bo Ly Kham Xay provinces of Laos have many similarities.
