Small traders said that the amount of food consumed during this holiday is expected to increase dramatically, so they have proactively provided abundant supplies and made efforts to keep prices stable to increase revenue.

Ms. Trinh Thi Hoa, a veal trader at Sa Nam market (Nam Dan town) said: "During the 4-day holiday alone, I prepared 15 veal calves, both for retail sale at the market and for distribution to shops in the district and Vinh city. The amount of meat consumed doubled, and on the main holiday, September 2, it tripled compared to normal days."

People took advantage of the holiday to both go out and shop for essential consumer goods. Therefore, promotional programs attracted the attention of customers.”

The reason why purchasing power increased but prices remained stable was due to two reasons. Firstly, after a period of waiting due to the "lag" caused by the impact of gasoline prices, prices of goods in traditional markets and supermarkets gradually stabilized, with some items decreasing by 10-25% when gasoline prices dropped sharply. Secondly, because traders had predicted market trends, they prepared abundant supplies to meet consumer demand and keep prices stable during the holidays.
