To be proactive in workforest fire preventionSince the beginning of the year, Nghe An has proactively cleared and burned 1,203 hectares of combustible materials. Repaired 163 km of firebreaks, built 27 km of new runways. Renovated 9 fire watchtowers, repaired 20 fire watchtowers.

There are two camera systems for monitoring forest fires in the province. Forest owners maintain 24/7 forest fire prevention and control. In localities, there are hundreds of village-level teams with a total of over 6,000 people always ready to participate in forest fire fighting.

Up to now, the Forest Protection Department has inspected, handled, and confiscated 226,391m3, imposed fines of over 2.9 billion VND; established periodic and surprise inspection teams on forest management, protection, and development activities in localities and forest owners to promptly detect violations.

Directing units and the Mobile Forest Ranger Team to strengthen inspection of border gates and openings in the province bordering Laos to prevent illegal transportation of timber and wild animals; inspect and handle cases of exploitation, transportation, and storage of forest products; and illegal hunting of wild animals. At the same time, finding solutions to rectify and resolve difficulties and problems in the process of performing forest management and protection tasks at the local level and by forest owners.

In order to speed up the progress of land allocation associated with forest allocation, in the first phase of 2022, 25,997.56 hectares were allocated in 5 districts of the province. Change the purpose of forest use to other purposes for 19 projects and works in the area. Approve the plan to pay for replacement forest planting when changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes for 21 projects and works.
