Promoting effective cooperation with the European Business Association and the American Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the 2022 foreign affairs program, to deploy economic diplomacy activities in the last months of the year, on September 7, the delegation of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Nghe An province led by Mr. Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department had a working session with the European Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi (Eurocham).

In recent years, despite its great potential, cooperation between Nghe An and European partners has remained modest. To promote investment and trade cooperation activities with European partners, in the general context of the increasingly developing Vietnam - EU Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation relationship and the implementation of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVAFTA), the Department of Foreign Affairs has proactively contacted and worked with Eurocham.
At the meeting, Director of Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Khanh Thuc introduced general information about the potential, strengths, and cooperation needs of Nghe An province, and requested Eurocham and CEEC in Hanoi to support businesses in exploring investment opportunities; creating opportunities for Nghe An to participate in cooperation forums with European partners. In particular, organizing a forum connecting Nghe An - Europe to seek investment, trade, and tourism cooperation opportunities between the two sides.
Responding to the request of the Director of Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nguyen Hai Minh - Vice President of Eurocham Hanoi and Mr. Csaba Bundik, Vice President of CEEC highly appreciated the potential and strengths of Nghe An province, and will support Nghe An province in connecting activities with European investors. In the coming time, Eurocham and CEEC will create opportunities for Nghe An province to contact European business delegations to survey investment and trade in Vietnam.
The Director of Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs sincerely thanked Eurocham and CEEC for their support and believed that the two sides would expand cooperation activities in depth in the coming time.
On the same afternoon, the Director of the Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs also had a working session with the American Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi (Amcham). Attending the meeting, on the Amcham side were Mr. Adam Sitkoff, Executive Director and Ms. Ngo Mai Trang, Office Director.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Khanh Thuc informed about the cooperation situation between Nghe An and the United States in recent times. Although the two sides have had many cooperations in the fields of aid, culture, education, and searching for American soldiers missing in the Vietnam War, investment and trade cooperation activities have not been commensurate with their potential. To further strengthen economic cooperation, Mr. Tran Khanh Thuc suggested that Amcham introduce and promote Nghe An's investment environment to US investors and create conditions for Nghe An province to participate in connection programs with US businesses.

Recognizing the potential and strengths of Nghe An province, Mr. Adam Sitkoff, Executive Director of Amcham, pledged to convey the province's message to US businesses and create conditions for Nghe An to attend US business networking events organized by Amcham.
The two sides believe that there will be more vibrant cooperation activities in the coming time, not only in the field of investment but also in the fields of trade and tourism.
