(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 8, the leaders of Nghe An province received a delegation from the Office of the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR led by Comrade A-lun-xay Xun-na-lat - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Minister, Head of the Office of the Prime Minister. Also attending were Deputy Head of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Thanh and a number of officials from the Office of the Government of Vietnam.

In the warm atmosphere of the Laos - Vietnam, Vietnam - Laos Solidarity Year, Minister and Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR A-lun-xay-sun-na-lat expressed his joy when visiting and working in Vietnam in general and Nghe An province in particular.

This visit aims to continue promoting the relationship between the two sides, contributing to deepening the Laos-Vietnam relationship; at the same time, organizing an "International Workshop on Experience Exchange in Consulting and Synthesizing to Serve the Government and the Prime Minister" between the Lao Prime Minister's Office and the Vietnamese Government Office.

In particular, the Office of the Government of Vietnam is an agency with a lot of experience in applying information technology, digital transformation, digital economy, digital society, and building e-government; therefore, the workshop will contribute to improving the capacity of the Office of the Prime Minister of Laos.

Returning to Nghe An this time, comrade A-lun-xay Xun-na-lat highly appreciated the socio-economic development of the province in recent times. Especially from 2018 to now, despite the context of many difficulties and challenges, Nghe An has developed very quickly.

On this occasion, the Minister and Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR thanked Vietnam, including Nghe An, for always providing valuable support and assistance, always standing shoulder to shoulder with Laos, both in the resistance wars as well as in the current cause of national construction and development.

On the basis of the friendly, close and cohesive relationship, comrade A-lun-xay Xun-na-lat proposed to continue to promote Vietnamese enterprises in general and Nghe An in particular to seek investment opportunities in Laos, especially in the agricultural sector.

He also hoped that Nghe An would continue to provide scholarships for Lao students to study at universities and colleges in the area; and continue to pay attention to Lao students studying in Nghe An. Thereby, contributing to training human resources for Laos to develop the country's economy and society.

Along with that, the Covid-19 epidemic has now been controlled, he hopes that the two sides will coordinate to promote tourism to increase exchanges between the people of the two countries.

With deep affection for Nghe An, the Minister and Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR sincerely wished the province further development and continued important contributions to the growing Laos - Vietnam relationship.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy expressed his joy in welcoming comrades A-lun-xay Xun-na-lat and Nguyen Xuan Thanh, along with the working delegation of the Lao Prime Minister's Office and the Vietnamese Government Office to organize the "International Workshop on Experience Exchange in Staff and Synthesis Work to Serve the Government and the Prime Minister" in Nghe An.

With sincere thanks for your good opinions, assessments and feelings about Nghe An, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy introduced some characteristics of natural conditions and socio-economic development of the province.

In particular, Nghe An is the largest province in Vietnam, with the 10th largest economy in the country; it shares a border with 3 provinces of Laos: Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang and Bolikhamxay, the longest in Vietnam with more than 468 km.

The terrain, history, and culture of the border area between Nghe An and the localities of neighboring Laos have many similarities. The people here live in harmony and closeness; there is a long-standing close neighborly relationship, so there is often economic and cultural exchange in many rich forms.

Promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; the friendship and cooperation between Nghe An and Lao localities are always maintained and developed.

Up to now, in addition to traditional cooperation with the three provinces sharing the border, namely Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, and Bolikhamxay, Nghe An has expanded its cooperative relations with the provinces of Vientiane, Khammouane, Savannakhet, and Xay Som Bun in many fields such as: trade, education - training, healthcare, defense - security;...

The import and export turnover between Nghe An and Lao provinces in the first 8 months of 2022 reached nearly 49 million USD. Since 2017, Nghe An has received and is receiving and training a total of about 1,200 Lao officials, students and students to study at universities and colleges in the province. In the first 8 months of 2022 alone, 210 Lao officials and students received full scholarships and training from Nghe An province.

Based on those cooperative relationships, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy said that Nghe An will pay close attention to increasing the arrangement and supporting more resources to receive Lao students to study at universities and colleges in the province.

Nghe An has 20 enterprises directly investing and doing business in Laos in the fields of mineral exploitation, processing industry, transportation, tourism, etc. with a total investment capital of more than 86 million USD. The head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee said that in the coming time, the province will strengthen, connect, and introduce Nghe An enterprises to study investment in Laos, especially in the field of agriculture as proposed by the Minister, Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Laos.

In addition to economic activities, the Provincial Party Secretary said: Nghe An pays attention to cooperation with Lao localities in healthcare, national defense, and security. Currently, there are 21 pairs of villages on both sides of the border and 8 pairs of border posts and border guard companies signing agreements to build a peaceful and friendly border.

In particular, last August, Nghe An province successfully organized the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations and the 45th Anniversary of the Signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty with the participation of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam and leaders of 7 provinces with traditional friendship relations. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the activities showed that the close relationship, sharing and cooperation with each other are increasingly affirmed.

In the near future, Nghe An is expected to organize two high-level delegations of provincial leaders to visit and work with several provinces of Laos with traditional friendship and cooperation to further deepen the relationship between the two sides and exchange, discuss and promote cooperation contents.
