"A car collided with the car carrying President Volodymyr Zelensky in the capital Kiev. Medical staff from the convoy provided first aid to the driver and transferred him to an ambulance. Doctors examined the President and found no serious injuries," Serhii Nykyforov, spokesman for the President of Ukraine, said today.

The news was announced a day after President Zelensky visited the strategic city of Izyum in Kharkiv province. The Ukrainian army recaptured the city on September 10, marking a major step forward in the counter-offensive in the northeast.
Mr. Zelensky also announced on September 12 that Ukraine had regained control of 6,000 square kilometers of territory since the beginning of the month. The US-based Institute for the Study of War assessed that the counteroffensive campaign in the northeast region had "turned the situation in Ukraine's favor, but could not end the war."
