Germany explains why the West cannot supply tanks to Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - ARD TV channel quoted Mr. Lars Klingbeil, co-chairman of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD), saying that Western allies cannot provide main battle tanks to Ukraine because there are corresponding agreements between these countries.

The politician added: "The allies have decided that no country will supply Western main battle tanks (to Ukraine)." At the same time, Mr. Klingbeil stressed that Germany is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine so that the Berlin government can decide "what steps to take next."
Previously, according to Bloomberg news agency, Western countries had a secret agreement with each other not to supply tanks to Kiev. Bloomberg also pointed out that the German army's main battle tank inventory is limited, which is also the reason why Berlin cannot allow the transfer of some of its tanks to the Ukrainian armed forces.
Amid the ongoing military campaign, the US and its NATO allies continue to pump weapons into Ukraine. President Joe Biden signed the Lend-Lease Act, which allocated tens of billions of dollars in aid to Kiev.
