Nghe An: More than 2.6 billion VND to support the program 'Godmother - Connecting love'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 25, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union organized the program "Godmother - Connecting love".
Attending the program were comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc.

The program "Godmother - Connecting Love" was launched by the Vietnam Women's Union and responded to by the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union, implemented since the end of March 2022. According to the review data, there are currently nearly 12,000 orphans in the province, of which 19 are orphans due to the Covid-19 epidemic, more than 6,000 orphans living in families with difficult and extremely difficult circumstances.

Up to now, after more than 6 months of implementing the program "Godmother - Connecting love", Women's Unions at all levels, companies, businesses and kind-hearted individuals in the province have sponsored 960 orphans in difficult and extremely difficult circumstances, with a total support amount of more than 4.8 billion VND.
Units that have done well include: Quynh Luu District Women's Union sponsored 167 orphans; Hoang Mai Town Women's Union sponsored 104 orphans; Thanh Chuong District Women's Union sponsored 100 orphans...
The Provincial Police Women's Association, the Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Border Guard Command have also actively mobilized officers in the force to sponsor hundreds of orphans in the province.

At the program "Godmother - Connecting love", female National Assembly deputies and Nghe An Provincial People's Council; along with many agencies, units, and benefactors, sponsored and gave gifts to the children. In total, 32 godmothers took care of 63 orphans with a total amount of more than 2.6 billion VND.

With its profound meaning and humanistic values, the program is expected to continue to spread and receive consensus and support from cadres and women's union members, continue to build, contribute, form a network to manage the program, strengthen connections, mobilize more and more organizations, units, and individuals to accompany, support, and bring love to orphans and children in difficult circumstances, helping them have more motivation to overcome their circumstances and strive for a brighter future.
This is also one of the programs aimed at achieving the goal of "Orphans in difficult circumstances are sponsored and cared for, no child is left behind".
