Over the years, Nghe An has always focused on solutions to protect wild birds. Implementing Directive No. 04/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2022 of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent solutions regarding wild and migratory birds in Vietnam, Nghe An Forest Protection Department has advised the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to promptly and seriously implement.

Mr. Pham Duc Thanh - Deputy Head of the Forest Protection Department said: Since the beginning of the month, Nghe An has simultaneously launched a crackdown on the hunting of migratory birds. Local authorities, in coordination with functional forces including forest rangers, police, and militia, have seized 27.5 kg of nets, 2 sets of speakers that emit fake bird sounds, 2 sets of electric shockers; released nearly 300 birds caught in nets into the wild, destroyed 480 fake storks, 3,500 sticky traps, and demolished 12 bird-trapping watchtowers...

In the coming time, the Forest Protection Department will continue to coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies in the area, organize forces to continuously and resolutely raid, to completely dismantle and recover means and tools for illegally trapping and catching wild birds; and destroy hotspots for processing, storing and illegally consuming wild birds.
