At this time, in the coriander growing area of Dien Thai commune (Dien Chau)Vegetables grown according to VietGAP standards are still submerged in water. People in vegetable fields are still braving the rain and soaking in water to harvest coriander.
Ms. Phan Huong in Hamlet 6, Dien Thai Commune, who is soaking in the water to "search" for coriander, shared: The whole vegetable field has been submerged in water for several days now, completely damaged. If it had not been for the rain and floods, the price of coriander would have been quite high, reaching 13,000 VND/kg, and the harvest would have been 10 million VND/sao/batch. Now, if we can salvage a few hundred thousand VND/sao, we will have to take every penny we get.

According to some coriander growers in Dien Thai commune, in addition to the damage to coriander due to flooding, after replanting, they also have to spend more than 5 million VND/sao for land preparation, seeds, sticks, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dai - Chairman of Dien Thai Commune People's Committee said: Dien Thai Commune currently has over 20 hectares of coriander, of which 9 hectares are produced according to VietGAP process, this type of coriander brings quite high profits, reaching nearly 300 million VND/ha/year. Currently, most of the coriander areaship flooded,damaged, severely damaged, estimated damage per sao is about 15 million VND (equivalent to about over 6 billion VND/20 ha). After the water receded, the commune deployed to direct hamlets to replant coriander areas to serve the Tet market.
