(Baonghean.vn) - The flash flood did not pass through the school in Nam Can commune, but heavy rain caused thousands of cubic meters of soil, rocks, and trees to flow into the dormitories of teachers and students, causing severe damage. In order to bring students back to school soon, these days, teachers and students of Nam Can Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities have had to work hard to clean up the mud.

Heavy rain and flash floods on the night of October 1 and the morning of October 2 in Ky Son district devastated Ta Ca commune and Muong Xen town. In Nam Can commune, although not directly affected by the flash floods, there were also severe landslides. Currently, many roads in this commune are still impassable. Photo: Dao Tho
At Nam Can Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, heavy rain caused more than 7,000 cubic meters of rock and soil to slide into the dormitories of teachers and students. Mr. Dao Hai Lam - Vice Principal of the school said: On the evening of October 1 and the morning of October 2, only a few teachers and students stayed in the dormitory due to the impact of storm Noru. When the landslide happened, teachers and students were all panicked and moved to another place to avoid danger. Photo: Dao Tho
On the first floor of the dormitory for semi-boarding students, mud destroyed the walls, flooded in and submerged the beds, books, and clothes of the students. Photo: Dao Tho

Because the roads are not yet open, the school is currently mobilizing teachers to clean up, first of all to clean up the environment to welcome students back to school as soon as possible. Photo: Dao Tho

Due to the large amount of earth and rock and the limited manpower, it is very difficult to overcome the consequences in a short time. The school has 309 students, including 258 boarding students, so our immediate priority is to stabilize the remaining rooms so that the students can return to school with a place to eat and stay" - teacher Dao Hai Lam shared.
