The passing of Nguyen Diana shocked friends and audiences. Fans left many comments mourning the short life of the beauty of mixed Vietnamese and Russian blood.
On Facebook, Dang Minh Nhat - a contestant who entered the top 45 of Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 - expressed her grief over the passing of her close sister. She said Nguyen Diana had had health problems for the past 2 years, but had always hidden it from everyone.
"2 years, countless flights from Hanoi to Saigon, you refused to meet me and said "wait, when you feel better, I'll meet you first". It wasn't until this Tet that I was able to take you on a trip, to discover together how wonderful Vietnam is. Unexpectedly, that was our last trip. So for all these months, sick and alone, you've been alone like that?", Minh Nhat wrote.
Runner-up Thuy Van also shared a series of photos of Nguyen Diana when participating in Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, with the status line: "Goodbye my angel".

Nguyen Diana was born in 1996, known by the nickname "mixed-race rose" when participating in Miss Universe Vietnam 2019. At the contest, Nguyen Diana was considered a strong contestant, scoring points for her good foreign language skills, bright appearance, and friendly smile.
In the challenge "I am elegant" (episode 4 of the reality show "I am Miss Universe Vietnam"), Nguyen Diana won thanks to her skillful and fluent communication with foreign guests. In the end, she entered the top 15 and won the Sports Beauty award.
Before competing in the Miss pageant, Nguyen Diana worked as a model in Ho Chi Minh City.
