MC Dai Nghia and Vietnamese stars surprise by becoming monks
As people who are loved by the public, MC Dai Nghia, singer Bao Yen, and singer Lo Thuy surprised everyone when they came to Buddha to become monks.
MC Dai Nghia
Recently, MC Dai Nghia had a charity trip to the Central region, but he suddenly announced that he would stay in Hue because of other work that needed him in the coming days. He wrote: "I have retired to my own place. I will live where I think I always belong, and do what I think I should have done a long time ago."

Immediately after that, the representative of Huyen Khong Pagoda (Hue City) confirmed the information that the drama artist became a monk here. However, this side said that Dai Nghia only became a monk to sow the seeds of fate, meaning he became a monk to practice for a short time.
The 14th Buddhist Retreat, themed “Living mindfully, dying peacefully,” is taking place at Huyen Khong Pagoda. The students have taken a vow to leave home and cultivate their lives for 10 days, following traditional activities like a true monk, not using cell phones, and remaining in a monastic life.
Anyone who loves Dai Nghia knows that he often tries to maintain a healthy life by being vegetarian and chanting Buddha's name. In a TV show, he once confided: "Since I was little, I told my parents that I wanted to become a monk. But when I was in 12th grade, preparing for the university entrance exam, I was in an internal struggle, torn between two paths." He shared that he could not fulfill his wish to become a monk because he still had to take responsibility as a grown son. Now that he has met the conditions, he has somewhat achieved his long-standing wish, even though it was only for a short time.
Singer Bao Yen
Many years ago, singer Bao Yen, when she was still at the peak of her career, surprised everyone when she completely cut off her life and the limelight of the stage, even locking her phone, locking her door, not communicating or interacting, becoming a vegetarian, living a pure, gentle life, completely practicing until she reached Amitabha Buddha.

Many people say the voiceGolden afternoonDoing so is losing the most beautiful things, but Bao Yen sincerely confided that before deciding to become a monk, she stopped all artistic activities, focused on becoming a nun, after a long enough time for her to see that her practice was already very "deep", she returned to singing with the simple thought that having practiced "deeply" then stepping out into the world she could still practice like that. However, she found herself mistaken, when returning to her career, she also stumbled with "messy" stories in showbiz, making her feel unable to calm her mind and be at peace.
For Bao Yen, fame and fortune cannot be taken with her when she dies, so she wants to live the most peaceful and serene life in the years after her death. Those who love Bao Yen will understand why she thinks so and will always remember her soulful singing that left a deep impression.
Singer Lo Thuy
Many times, people come to Buddha because of "fate". Lo Thuy - a lyrical singer, famous for her performances of Trinh Cong Son's music. In addition, she also performs many classic works by Nguyen Van Thuong, Dang The Phong... is perhaps a typical example of that.

During her pilgrimage with Buddhist followers to India in November 2019, singer Lo Thuy shared a photo of her "hair-shaving" when visiting the cave where Buddha practiced ascetic meditation. Lo Thuy's unique image shows that she is very relaxed and holy, but also quite unique to this very individual singer. And she wrote a letter with simple, emotional words to send to her beloved late father.
In the letter written to her late father, the female singer could not help but make people emotional and somewhat understand the reason why she wanted to do so:
"The story of the pilgrimage, I don't know where to start. But I will briefly talk about the places that I and the Sangha have been to. Coming here is not simply to worship, visit, or take pictures that I have been there. But coming here is for someone who has practiced meditation... I have recognized that the old path is still there, the white clouds are still there, I take one step on this path, with a peaceful and mindful state of mind, then the old path and the old white clouds will miraculously transform into today's path and the white clouds in the present... I breathe and smile...
I signed up for the hair cutting ceremony and have no regrets. My actions surprised the monks, teachers and everyone! An image of Lo Thuy with her long, beautiful hair while singing Trinh's music flew away in an instant, along with the continuous chanting of the name of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara by a large supporting Sangha: "Namo Dai Bi Quan The Am Bodhisattva". Right after the hair cutting ceremony, I saw my father in me, my son in my father immediately present. At that time, everyone who looked at me exclaimed that I was so handsome, so bright...! I still remember that my father was practicing with the Sangha at Phap Van Pagoda. He was happy because he knew about the Plum Village Dharma. He was reassured when he saw his daughter on a bright and beautiful path, his daughter was introduced by the monks to sing Zen songs for the public to listen to to nourish her body and mind.
Dad looked at me lovingly, and I knew he wanted to live in that peaceful space with me and the community. Then one day not far away, Dad also left this temporary world, I held Dad's hand until his last breath... And I will be responsible for continuing the things Dad left unfinished... I will continue to breathe for Dad, walk for Dad, eat for Dad, practice for Dad...".
