VAR will be piloted in 2023, V.League matches will have more camera angles

Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Chairman of the Board of Directors of VPF said that VAR will be piloted in some matches in Vietnam in 2023, to help referees implement the operation. In addition, the number of camera angles in V.League matches will also be increased to 8.

Ranking in V.League greatly determines revenue from television copyright

V.League teams are expected to have more revenue from television rights than First Division teams. For V.League specifically, it is likely that the rankings of teams will also affect the amount of money they receive from television rights.

VPF will work with FPT Play to promote image development and commercial exploitation of the three leading tournaments that VPF is managing, organizing and operating, including: V.League, First Division, National Cup for 5 consecutive seasons, from 2023 to 2027, on multiple platforms. Details of the contract value were not disclosed. However, according to many previous sources, each season, FPT Play will pay VPF about 60 billion VND in television copyright fees.

Teams in the V.League will receive more than those in the First Division, in which the rankings of teams in the V.League and the First Division based on the rankings also affect the difference in revenue received.
