Spread the new rural construction movement
Ban Kieng is a purely agricultural village of Chau Binh commune (Quy Chau), with 169 households and 781 people, 100% of whom are Thai ethnic group. Since being elected as Secretary of the village Party Cell, Ms. Sam Thi Lan, a prestigious person in the village, has promoted and mobilized people to carry out movements to develop the economy, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, build cultural life in residential areas; unite, support each other, care for and help families with meritorious services.

In particular, implementing the new rural construction program, Ms. Sam Thi Lan actively mobilized households in the village to donate 186m2land, 51m of fence and hundreds of trees with a total value of 350 million VND; contributed money and working days to complete 3.2 km of rural roads, renovate the village's community cultural house, build a volleyball court and a village football field...
In addition, Ms. Lan always upholds the spirit of being a role model, taking the lead in propagating and mobilizing her family and villagers to actively transform the economic structure towards commodity production, applying science and technology to production; at the same time, participating in short-term vocational training courses, working and producing in industrial parks in and outside the province or exporting labor... Thanks to that, the life and income of people in the village are increasingly improved. In 2017, the average income per capita in the village reached 25 million VND/year, by 2021 the income had increased to 40 million VND/person/year.
As one of the prestigious people among ethnic minorities in Thung Khang village, Chau Binh commune (Quy Chau), Mr. Vi Van Chau is not only a shining example in economic development but also an active propagandist in mobilizing relatives and the community to participate in supporting and contributing to the construction of the new rural area.
Mr. Chau shared: “Realizing that the lives of the people in the village are still difficult, many backward customs have affected their daily lives, I and my comrades in the Party Cell and the Village Front Committee have persistently mobilized the people to gradually change their thinking and awareness. With the motto of “going to every alley, knocking on every door”, we have propagated in many forms so that people do not feel inferior but voluntarily participate in implementing the criteria, especially the criteria on traffic and poor households”.
Promoting his role and responsibility to the community, Mr. Chau regularly meets and encourages people to feel secure in developing the economy, promoting the spirit of great solidarity; propagating to people to practice civilized lifestyle, eliminate bad customs, join hands to build new countryside... To achieve the above results, he himself regularly studies and learns through books, newspapers and exchanges and learns experiences with other prestigious people to improve his understanding, especially to grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws...
Mr. Lang Van Chinh - Chairman of Chau Binh Commune People's Committee (Quy Chau) shared: One of the decisive factors for success in building new rural areas is the spirit of solidarity of the people and prestigious people are the connecting threads. With the spirit of "slow and steady wins the race", all programs and projects are completed with the consensus of the people; 19/19 criteria in building new rural areas of the locality have been achieved, which is an important step to bring Chau Binh commune to the new rural finish line in 2021.

In recent years, prestigious people among ethnic minorities in the district have promoted their core role in various fields; propagating and mobilizing ethnic minorities to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and local regulations, which have brought about very practical results; taking the lead in propagating and mobilizing people to respond to emulation movements in labor, production, and economic development. Typically, many prestigious families have successfully applied the farm economic model, not only helping their families escape poverty but also supporting and helping many households escape poverty through support of seeds, capital, and techniques, helping many households to escape poverty and become rich.
In the field of new rural construction, the team of prestigious people actively coordinates with Party committees, authorities, and the Fatherland Front to propagate and mobilize people to actively participate in taking the lead in responding to and implementing new rural construction. The spiritual and material life of the people has gradually improved. The average income per capita has continuously increased, from 4.6 million VND in 2005 to 42.3 million VND in 2021.
In maintaining national defense, security, order and social safety, prestigious people have actively participated in and mobilized local people to build and deploy many models to carry out the movement "All people protect national security", such as the model: "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", "Manage and educate children not to commit crimes and social evils", "Self-management in the clan"...
In order to build forces, care for and encourage prestigious people to actively participate in movements, every year, the District People's Committee has deployed and directed the district's specialized departments and the People's Committees of communes and towns to do a good job of propaganda, in order to promote the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities; commend, reward and recognize the contributions of prestigious people in all areas of social life; promptly pay attention to policies for prestigious people in the area.
In order for prestigious people to be the bridge connecting the Party's will with the people's hearts, in the coming time, the district will continue to fully implement policies for prestigious people to encourage and motivate prestigious people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in residential areas; promptly commend and reward prestigious people with outstanding achievements; mobilize and arrange jobs for prestigious people to participate in work with the government, political organizations, and social organizations at the grassroots level, in order to promote the role and position of prestigious people, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of ethnic minorities, promptly reflect them to the local government, the Party, and the State; organize delegations to study advanced models in localities, in order to encourage patriotism, national pride, and solidarity in building the homeland and the country so that they can continue to propagate and mobilize people in residential areas.
