VFF term 9: Can't just talk
The 9th VFF needs to achieve big goals to bring Vietnamese football to new heights. And to be successful, the new apparatus certainly cannot… just talk or make promises for fun.
The 9th VFF needs to achieve big goals to bring Vietnamese football to new heights. And to be successful, the new apparatus certainly cannot… just talk or make promises for fun.
1. It may not be the first time, but the fact that the four most powerful seats of Vietnamese football were simultaneously transferred to new people after the 9th congress is clearly quite rare at VFF.
This change, in any case, brings hope for a further successful journey for Vietnamese football.
The "opportunity" is even brighter because the young people who have just been selected for key positions at VFF have more or less demonstrated their abilities in personal areas before taking up their positions for the next 4 years.
In addition, the solid foundation of success that the 8th class left behind is also a basis for expectations of a brighter future for Vietnamese football.

VFF Term 9 changes new leadership to bring expectations
2. Ignoring the seats of VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and Vice President in charge of professional affairs Tran Anh Tu, which were awarded right before the vote because there were no opponents, to sit on the remaining two positions including Vice President in charge of finance and Vice President of communications is not simple.
To win more votes than their predecessors, it is clear that candidates like Nguyen Trung Kien and Nguyen Xuan Vu must present a "campaign platform" along with high support to be able to sit in those two seats.
Specifically, in the election platform, the new Vice President of Finance declared to help VFF's revenue grow by 50% compared to the 8th term. Similarly, the new Vice President of Communications affirmed to bring a better image of Vietnamese football in the eyes of fans, international friends... during his term at the helm.
These goals are not the key to winning the election, but at least they help Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien and Nguyen Xuan Vu gain sympathy or more votes and enter the VFF house.
3. Whether VFF finances will increase by 50% or how the "forward line" will improve (AFC compares the media to a forward line in the football development scheme) remains to be seen, but those statements certainly bring a lot of expectations.
To succeed or not disappoint the expectations of the votes, the two new Vice Presidents must act and carry out their duties in the most serious manner.
The same goes for both new President Tran Quoc Tuan and Vice President in charge of professional affairs Tran Anh Tu for their statements about helping Vietnamese football develop after taking office.
Whether or not it is successful ultimately depends on many factors, but at least everyone must be unanimous and determined to do what they say, instead of just saying it for… fun.
