November Press Conference

On the morning of November 11, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications and the Provincial Journalists Association to organize the November 2022 Press Conference.

Comrades: Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Tran Minh Ngoc - Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association co-chaired the conference. Press agencies continue to report on the consequences of floods

In general, in October 2022, press agencies strictly followed the propaganda direction of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the state management of the Department of Information and Communications. Press agencies reported on the internal and external activities of provincial leaders; key contents of the regular meetings of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee; emphasizing the positive results achieved in the past 10 months.

Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Radio and Television Station published and broadcast the 4th Session of the 15th National Assembly; emphasized important contents considered, discussed, and commented on at the Session; published voters' opinions expecting and believing that at this Session of the National Assembly, there will be many important decisions for the country.

Activities: Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Publishing, Printing and Book Distribution industry; Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13), Vietnam Women's Day (October 20); the establishment of Party building committees and Party Committee Offices... have been widely reported by the press. In addition, the press has published articles on gender equality; reflecting the work of caring for the material and spiritual lives of female cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, highlighting, affirming and honoring the contributions of Vietnamese women in the history of building and defending the country as well as the role of Vietnamese women in modern society.

Regarding the flood situation, press agencies continue to report on the consequences of the flood; provide information and update the sharing of organizations and individuals towards people affected by the flood. In particular, some press agencies have proactively provided direct support and actively called for and launched the sharing and support of the community.

The press agencies have also promoted their critical thinking in reflecting and informing about the violations of some project works; projects behind schedule, projects "suspended" for a long time causing waste of land resources, causing loss of state budget revenue; handling suspended projects, projects behind schedule and projects using land for the wrong purpose in the province. In addition, some other issues such as: Violations in land management; some shortcomings in administrative management at the grassroots level, environmental pollution, recurrence of overloaded vehicles... have been reflected by the press agencies.

Press agencies continue to publish many articles promoting good examples in teaching and learning; emphasizing the benefits of applying technology in teaching and learning; recognizing the proactive arrangement of "adaptive" teachers in the context of human resource shortages in the education sector; reflecting on the situation of overcharging at the beginning of the school year at some educational institutions; inadequacies in tuition collection; school violence, etc.

In October 2022, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department compiled 4 contents of press reports and issued 4 documents directing the handling of 4 issues reported by the press. By November 4, 2022, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department had received 4 reports on handling issues raised by the press from units and localities. The Department of Information and Communications received 6 documents from the People's Committees of Tan Ky, Yen Thanh districts, Vinh city, and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment directing units to inspect and handle 9 issues raised by the press.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department suggested that in the coming time, press agencies continue to promote information and propaganda on the results of the 6th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee; the 4th Session of the 15th National Assembly; comprehensively and synchronously propagate the results of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China; new policies of the Party, State, and province...

Strengthening propaganda to build and rectify the Party and the political system; resolutely preventing, repelling, and strictly handling cadres and Party members who have degraded in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation"; preventing and combating corruption, waste, negativity, power and position seeking, and "group interests"; innovating the Party's leadership method for the socio-political system in the new period; actively propagating and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation...

In addition, press agencies promote the dissemination of socio-economic development results and effective economic development models. Disseminate information on anti-smuggling, trade fraud, food safety, etc. Reflect good and creative ways of organizing the National Great Unity Day. Disseminate major holidays and anniversaries of the month.

Organizing activities to celebrate the 250th birth anniversary and 200th death anniversary of Poet Ho Xuan Huong

Also this morning, the Department of Culture and Sports informed about activities to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth (1772 - 2022) and 200th anniversary of the death (1822 - 2022) of Poet Ho Xuan Huong.

Female poet Ho Xuan Huong - an outstanding female poet, honored as "Queen of Nom poetry" with many works reaching the pinnacle of Vietnamese Nom poetry, is a rare phenomenon in world literature. In particular, Ho Xuan Huong's poetry is a voice fighting for people's desire to live, fighting for women's rights and gender equality. With international and timeless ideological and artistic values, Ho Xuan Huong's poetry has been translated into 12 different languages.

At the 41st General Assembly in November 2021, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) passed a resolution honoring and participating in the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth and 200th anniversary of the death of Poet Ho Xuan Huong. This is an affirmation and international appreciation of the cultural and artistic values, literary creativity as well as the timeless thoughts on gender equality and women's liberation of Poet Ho Xuan Huong.

In order to express gratitude and honor the outstanding cultural celebrity of Vietnam and the world for her great contributions to literature and ideology of Poet Ho Xuan Huong; at the same time, responding to UNESCO's activities on the honor program, participating in commemorating individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of culture, education, and enhancing international understanding, Nghe An province coordinated with departments, ministries, and branches to organize activities to honor and celebrate the 250th anniversary of birth (1772 - 2022), 200th anniversary of death (1822 - 2022) of Poet Ho Xuan Huong on December 2-3, 2022.
