The perpetrators who cut down trees in Vinh City have been identified.
(Baonghean.vn) - The person who cut down trees on the 72m Vinh - Hung Tay road has been identified as Ho Sy Son, whose permanent address is in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city.
According to information from the Urban Management Department of Vinh City, after receiving reports of trees being cut down on the sidewalk in front of house number 09, 72m Vinh - Hung Tay road, in Minh Khang Urban Area, Nghi Phu commune, the local authorities conducted an inspection and issued a report against the violators.The suspect used a knife to cut down the black star tree.On the aforementioned route is Ho Sy Son, whose permanent address is in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city.

Previously, a video appeared on Facebook showing two men using knives to cut down black star trees planted on the 72m Vinh - Hung Tay road, in the Minh Khang urban area (Nghi Phu commune). After the video was posted online, many people were extremely outraged and demanded that the authorities investigate and severely punish the perpetrators.

After receiving the report, the Vinh City People's Committee issued a document assigning the Vinh City Police to take the lead, in coordination with the Nghi Phu Commune People's Committee and the Vinh City Green Park Joint Stock Company, to inspect, investigate, verify, and strictly handle the aforementioned act of cutting down trees in accordance with the law (including criminal penalties - if any); requiring the violating organization or individual to plant replacement trees of suitable type and report the results to the Vinh City People's Committee before November 16, 2022.
Regarding this issue, according to Clause 3, Article 54 of Decree No. 16/2022/ND-CP dated January 28, 2022, regulating administrative penalties for construction violations, a fine of VND 30,000,000 to VND 50,000,000 shall be imposed for the act of arbitrarily cutting down, relocating, digging up the roots of urban trees or cutting the roots of trees without permission.

In addition, offenders who dump toxic substances or construction materials at the base of trees; cook, burn the base, or build platforms or pedestals around the base of trees will be required to restore the original condition.
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc, Head of the Urban Management Department of Vinh City, the City People's Committee is currently awaiting a report on the handling of the case from the City Police and will provide an answer as soon as possible.
