Proud of 55 years of tradition

Nghe An College of Culture and Arts, formerly the School of Culture and Information, was established in October 1967, according to Decision No. 2296 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province. The school was established to meet the human resource needs on the ideological, cultural and artistic front, promptly encouraging and motivating the people to enthusiastically compete to make achievements, overcome all difficulties, and win the war against the US to save the country.

After 4 times of name changes, upgrades and 7 times of relocation during the war, from Thinh Son (Do Luong), Nghi My (Nghi Loc), Nghi Tien (Nghia Dan), Nghi Truong (Nghi Loc), Dien Doai (Dien Chau), Nghi Duc (Nghi Loc)... over more than half a century of construction and growth, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts (located in Hung Loc commune, Vinh city) has grown stronger, more spacious and modern.

55 years ago, in the early days of its establishment, the school had only 6 staff members and simple facilities. Up to now, the school's organizational structure has 4 specialized departments, 4 functional departments, 1 Center for enrollment, training and nurturing artistic talents. The staff and permanent lecturers are stable with nearly 80 people who have received basic training, are solid in professional expertise, enthusiastic, and love their jobs, of which more than 80% have master's degrees or higher.

Many guest lecturers are People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, Artisans, and leading experts in culture and arts, invited to participate in training 12 regular College majors/occupations, 6 regular Secondary majors/occupations, and 5 key national majors/occupations:Graphic Design,Vocal Music, Folk Performing Arts, Traditional Instrument Performance and Dance.

In addition, the school also cooperates with major universities nationwide to train undergraduates in the fields of arts, tourism, cultural management, libraries, etc. Thanks to that, the quality of training and scientific research of the school is increasingly in-depth; meeting practical needs well.

Milestones

Continuing the tradition, through many generations, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts has always excellently completed assigned tasks, the school's Party Committee has always been strong, the Trade Union and Youth Union have promoted well, and have made many positive contributions to the emulation movements of the industry and the province.

With the effort to promote the intelligence and collective strength of innovation in teaching methods, actively apply science and technology, focus on combining traditional values ​​with modern values, and at the same time create "open", more vivid and attractive cultural and artistic spaces; thanks to that, the quality of training cultural and artistic human resources of the school is increasingly improved.

The results of the school's political tasks have contributed to improving the spiritual and cultural life, providing high-quality human resources in the fields of culture - arts - tourism, music - fine arts teachers for the province, the region and the whole country; at the same time preserving and promoting indigenous cultural values, especially in the field of traditional arts, of which the most typical is the intangible cultural heritage representing humanity - Nghe Tinh folk songs, recognized by UNESCO since 2014.

The school has organized teaching courses in Drama, Folk Performing Arts, Folk Dance, Traditional Musical Instruments, etc. to train, foster, and impart professional stage arts and folk singing; contributing to making Nghe An gradually become a cultural, educational, scientific and technological center of the North Central region.

In recent years, despite many fluctuations and common difficulties for art training schools, the school has always been proactive, promoting its own strengths to find practical and effective solutions in enrollment and training. The enrollment results are basically stable and ensure scale, structure and quality. Many majors/occupations have achieved and exceeded the assigned targets such as: Western Instrument Performance, Vocal Music, Traditional Instrument Performance, Dance Actor, Painting...

To achieve that result, along with doing a good job of recruiting propaganda, career counseling, cooperating with employers and the attention of provincial leaders, departments and functional branches, the role of units in the school has been maximized, specialized departments such as Music, Fine Arts, Cultural Affairs, Tourism always actively innovate program content, teaching methods, scientific research in the direction of updating and effectively exploiting advanced achievements in the world, promoting digital transformation, applying information technology to teaching and management, training, fostering in the direction of mastering skills and professional characteristics.

Many teachers who are both teachers and artists, singers, painters, actors have affirmed their reputation and name, participated and had many works that won high awards in professional activities of the province, the industry, domestically and internationally; typical examples are: painters Ngoc Ban, Thai An, Huy Hung, Hai Nhung,... of the Fine Arts Department; singers Trung Hoang, Anh Tuyet, musician Xuan Hai,... of the Music Department; choreographers Hong Van, Hoai Huong of the Cultural and Tourism Department...

Many students are trained and nurtured in their souls and talents from this school to spread their wings and fly high, far, and shine in the "artistic sky".
