Detained a subject illegally buying and selling personal data of 150,000 people
Authorities discovered that Mirae Asset Company employees were buying and selling personal data of about 150,000 Vietnamese people.
Quang Nam Provincial Police have just searched the headquarters of Mirae Asset Finance Company Limited and Legal A Plus Law Company Limited in An Phu Ward, Tam Ky City to investigate the acts of usury, debt collection, and using social networks to defame people.
On November 21, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Quang Nam Provincial Police coordinated to conduct an administrative inspection at Mirae Asset Finance Company Limited, 4th floor, Panko Plaza building, An Phu ward, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province and Legal A Plus Law Company Limited, 280 Nguyen Van Troi street, An Phu ward, Tam Ky city.
Authorities initially determined that, at the time of inspection, Mirae Asset Company did not have a legal representative as prescribed by law.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dao (32 years old), residing in Binh Dinh Nam commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province and Ms. Tran Thi Nang Huong (34 years old), residing in Binh Nguyen commune, Thang Binh district, the highest manager, could not present a business registration certificate, the company did not have a signboard.
The total number of employees of this company is 76 people, divided into 7 groups, using the phone to call and advise people in need of loans under the management of Nguyen Thi Xuan Dao and Tran Thi Nang Huong.
Mirae Asset Company, Quang Nam branch, conducts loan development activities for individuals, and communication and debt collection activities are operated by Mirae Asset Company in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, the authorities discovered that employees of Mirae Asset Company, Quang Nam province branch, had committed acts ofbuying and selling of personal dataof about 150,000 Vietnamese people. The case is currently being verified and processed.
Regarding Legal A Plus Company, at the time of inspection, Mr. Do Huy Binh (34 years old), residing in Chu Se town, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province, was the manager. This company had 25 employees working on computers.
Authorities determined that Vu Ngoc Hieu (26 years old), residing in An My ward, Tam Ky city, is a debt collection employee of a company that used the images of many individuals nationwide (without permission from the owner) to edit and insert slanderous content to terrorize and insult honor and dignity.
Through collecting documents, the Investigation Agency of Quang Nam Province Police issued an emergency detention order for Vu Ngoc Hieu for the act of "Slander". In addition, at Legal A Plus Company, the authorities discovered 3 subjects with online gambling behavior.
The case is being further investigated by Quang Nam Provincial Police./.
