Nghe An will become an attractive experiential tourism destination.
(Baonghean.vn) - Often described as a "miniature Vietnam," with its diverse landscapes including seas, islands, plains, midlands, and mountains, and possessing a comprehensive transportation infrastructure, Nghe An is becoming an attractive destination for experiential tourism as well as real estate investment.
A nudge from the start.developmentinfrastructure
As the fourth most populous and largest province in Vietnam, and located in the heart of the North Central region, Nghe An has a fairly complete transportation network, including railways, roads, waterways, and air routes. In particular, this sector continues to receive significant investment.
In 2022, many large-scale investment projects focused on infrastructure development in Nghe An. Several key transportation projects are being urgently implemented, including the 83km coastal road from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Ha Tinh; and the road connecting National Highway 7C (Do Luong) to the Ho Chi Minh Highway (Tan Ky)... Besides existing major transportation arteries such as the Ho Chi Minh Highway and National Highway 1A, according to the plan, the Hanoi-Vinh expressway, expected to be operational in 2030, will significantly shorten travel time from Hanoi to Vinh.

The government has approved the investment plan to upgrade and expand Vinh International Airport to 2.5 times its current size; build auxiliary facilities for Vinh International Airport with a total cost of over 10,700 billion VND; build Cua Lo deep-water port with a scale of 3,300 billion VND; and build the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway (passing through Nghe An)... The province has also just announced the planning and is calling for investment in a series of industrial parks and new urban areas...
These large-scale projects will provide Nghe An with opportunities for strong economic and service development, the completion of a chain of urban spaces with distinctive local characteristics and identity, attractiveness, environmental friendliness, and improved quality of life.
Abundant natural resources
Furthermore, besides its rich history with over 2,000 historical sites and scenic spots, Nghe An is also blessed with beautiful natural landscapes, possessing a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve; and numerous beautiful beaches stretching along 82 km of coastline. The high number of sunshine hours makes it ideal for year-round resort tourism. The diversity of tourism resources in Nghe An is further demonstrated by its caves and waterfalls, which are destinations for tourists who enjoy exploring nature, hiking, boating, and experiencing local culture.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nghe An ranked 7th nationwide in attracting tourists during the first nine months of this year. Information from the Nghe An Investment and Tourism Promotion Center indicates that the cumulative number of tourists visiting Nghe An in the first ten months of the year is estimated at 6.14 million, a 244% increase compared to the same period in 2021. The majority of tourists chose to stay in Vinh City.
However, many argue that due to a lack of modern service infrastructure, unique entertainment areas, underdeveloped night-time economy, and especially the absence of large-scale high-end real estate projects, visitors to Nghe An are primarily domestic tourists with short stays. The quality of service and capacity to accommodate international and high-end tourists remain limited, and tourism products are not diverse enough.

The goal of Nghe An's tourism industry by 2025 is to attract 6.0 - 6.3 million overnight tourists, including 300,000 international visitors; by 2030, tourism will fundamentally become a key economic sector of the province, creating momentum to promote the development of other industries and fields; making Nghe An one of the tourism centers of the North Central region and an attractive destination nationwide.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Real Estate Association, this goal is entirely achievable thanks to the determination of the local government and the participation of many large enterprises such as Vingroup and Lotte Vietnam.
In particular, in Vinh City, the founder of Ecopark is developing the nearly 200-hectare Eco Central Park ecological urban complex – the city's largest urban project, meeting the entertainment, experience, and relaxation needs of millions of tourists. The project, upon completion, is expected to become the perfect piece to help Nghe An's tourism industry "take off".

In reality, the strong development of infrastructure, coupled with the influx of large-scale real estate projects by major corporations, is breathing new life into and heating up the local real estate market. As a result, Vinh City has become one of the most vibrant real estate markets in the country for the past three quarters, according to statistics from the Vietnam Real Estate Brokers Association. With this solid foundation from infrastructure, property prices in Vinh and surrounding areas are expected to continue to surge in the near future.
