Golden Bell Contest 'Join hands to act - preserve green environment' for primary school students

(Baonghean.vn) - By participating in the contest and experiencing the program "Milk carton recycling story", students gain more knowledge about the environment, plastic waste pollution, climate change, nature conservation and conservation of rare animals.

Recently, in Vinh city, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training of Vinh city and Lagom Joint Stock Company, organized the Golden Bell contest: "Join hands to act - preserve the green environment" and the experience program "The story of recycling milk cartons".

This activity is within the framework of the Vietnam Business Alliance for the Environment (VB4E), co-founded by IUCN, the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and TH Group (owner of the TH true MILK brand).

The contest attracted the participation of student representatives from 10 primary schools in Vinh city.

With the mission of enhancing business participation in environmental protection and biodiversity conservation in Vietnam, VB4E has been building many projects, programs and activities connecting businesses, environmental protection organizations and community communication.

The Golden Bell program and experiential activities are part of a series of communication activities for teachers and students on reducing plastic waste and plastic pollution implemented by IUCN in collaboration with partners through VB4E.

The main objectives of the program are: To provide students with knowledge about collection, classification andrecycle wasteespecially plastic waste, milk cartons; Improve knowledge of nature conservation and rare animals through the Golden Bell contest; Help students understand the process of recycling milk cartons through direct experience activities; Encourage students to classify, collect and recycle waste properly, spreading love for the environment.

At the program, students directly visited and experienced the recycling process of milk cartons and plastic bottles. From there, they will see the meaning and effect of waste classification at the source in supporting recycling and reducing plastic waste that pollutes the environment.

This activity will help students gain more knowledge about the environment and pollution.plastic waste, climate change, nature conservation and conservation of rare animals.

In the coming time, it is expected that the milk carton collection activities at 10 schools participating in the program will be carried out with the support of recycling corporations and businesses. From there, students and teachers will have the opportunity to practice and maintain the collection activities, contributing to reducing plastic waste in Vinh city, Nghe An.
