Vinh University awards scholarships to disadvantaged students

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of November 27, Vinh University organized a cultural exchange program and awarded scholarships to students.

This is an activity to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Laos diplomatic relations (1962-2022) and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Korea diplomatic relations (1992-2022).

Within the framework of the program, Vinh University organized many meaningful activities such as organizing camps, cultural exchanges, preparing and presenting cuisine, and presenting traditional costumes.

On this occasion, another meaningful activity is to organize scholarships for students. This is also an activity that the school has maintained for many years to promptly support students with difficult circumstances to strive to study well.

Previously, since the beginning of the school year, Vinh University has received support from sponsors and awarded 325 scholarships to students with a total amount of more than 2.6 billion VND. In this period alone, the total amount of scholarships awarded to students is more than 1.3 billion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Bang - Principal of the school said: Among the nearly 40,000 students of the school, there are still many students with difficult and especially difficult circumstances.

Implementing the Prime Minister's policy of "not letting students drop out of school due to difficult circumstances", Vinh University has synchronously deployed many solutions such as: establishing the "Fund to support students of Vinh University", organizing the model "Vinh School Shelter Club" to help and share with students who are orphaned by both parents and have no place to rely on, introducing part-time jobs for students...

In addition, the school also regularly allocates from welfare resources to contribute to the Student Support Fund; at the same time, it mobilizes organizations, businesses and kind-hearted individuals to contribute, support, and jointly care for the young generation and the country's education cause.

Through this ceremony, the President of Vinh University thanked the material and spiritual support of businesses, organizations and kind-hearted individuals for the school's students in recent years.
