Armed robbers arrested

Nguyen Van Thi, 25 years old, and his juniors used homemade guns and knives... to attack many passersby to rob their property.

On December 11, Thi, from Ca Mau, and 10 other suspects were detained by Dong Nai police for criminal conduct.Robbery, Theft, Organizing illegal use of drugs.

Three nights ago, Do Huu Phuc, 19 years old, and his friend were returning home from work on Road 8, Giang Dien Industrial Park, Trang Bom District when Thi and his accomplices suddenly blocked their way, pulled out guns, and robbed them of their motorbike and phone.

A day earlier, Thi also used a gun to control Tran Thanh Binh, 35 years old, in a coffee shop in An Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district, taking his SH motorbike and iPhone 13.

Determining that the gang used "hot goods" in a reckless and dangerous manner, the criminal police of Bien Hoa City Police coordinated with Long Thanh and Trang Bom districts to simultaneously launch a manhunt.

On the afternoon of December 10, special forces detectives arrested Thi, Hoang Van Tuan (29 years old, from Gia Lai) and 9 accomplices involved in a series of robberies and thefts in the province. Searching the group's residence, the police seized a Rulo gun, 3 pepper sprays, 3 homemade knives and many tools used to break doors, break motorbike locks...

Thi told the police that she had ordered guns on social media. Her gang often gathered around deserted areas, followed their victims, then forced them to drive, and used guns and knives to threaten them with their property. After robbing or stealing a motorbike, they would quickly sell it for money to spend, gather to drink and buy drugs.

Weapons and evidence were seized.

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Nhat Hong Phuc, Head of the Criminal Police Department (PC02) of Dong Nai Province Police, said that this is a group of professional, reckless, and daring criminals; many of them have criminal records, and their activities are widespread in many areas of the province. The case is under further investigation.

The move to destroy the gang is part of a general plan to attack and suppress crime, maintaining security and order for people to celebrate Tet.
