(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 14, the Provincial Military Service Council held a conference to review the military recruitment work in 2022 and deploy tasks in 2023. Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council chaired the conference.

COMPLETE TARGETS, ENSURE QUALITY

In 2022, the Government, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security assigned Nghe An province to select and call 3,150 citizens to join the Vietnam People's Army and 244 citizens to join the People's Public Security. After the registration, review, and health examination process, the local Military Command issued orders to call 3,306 citizens to join the army, reaching 105%. Nghe An has assigned 3,150 citizens, reaching 100% of the assigned target.

Among the citizens called for military service, 15.7% have type I health; 59.4% have type 2 health; 4.9% have secondary education or higher; 5 are party members; ethnic minorities account for 22.9%; children of officials and civil servants account for 1.6%.

Although the military recruitment work still faces many difficulties, the quota is large, and the quality requirements are increasingly high, the Party committees and authorities at all levels have performed well in leadership and direction. The Provincial Military Service Council operates effectively, the advisory role of military agencies at all levels and the coordination of departments, branches, the Fatherland Front and organizations have completed the assigned quota, ensuring quality without compensation or return.

In addition, the work of military rear policy has been of interest to the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and sectors, and has been demonstrated in many forms. After soldiers were discharged and returned to their localities, the sectors organized counseling, career guidance, and registration for more than 2,578 soldiers who needed jobs and vocational training.

In 2023, the Government, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security assigned Nghe An province to select and call 3,100 citizens to join the Vietnam People's Army and 275 citizens to join the People's Public Security. The province aims to "recruit people, make sure they are recruited, without compensation or return".

At the conference, the delegates analyzed, evaluated, and clarified the results, shortcomings, and limitations in the military recruitment work in 2022; at the same time, they suggested that in 2023, it is necessary to pay attention to policies for discharged soldiers; pay attention to monitoring, training, and admitting qualified citizens to the Party; do a good job of propaganda to raise awareness among citizens; apply information technology in military recruitment work, in order to increase publicity and transparency...

Discussing some practical difficulties, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council said that the quality of citizens that Nghe An recruited for military service was highly appreciated by the receiving units and Military Region 4. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Military Service Council fully accepted the opinions of members and sectors to further improve the procedures, overcome difficulties and obstacles so that the military recruitment work would be better and better.

IMPLEMENTING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION TO SERVE MILITARY RECRUITMENT

Concluding the conference, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council assessed that in 2022, the Provincial Military Service Council had performed well the assigned tasks; members seriously and responsibly performed the assigned tasks.

The work of propagating and disseminating the law has received attention and has taken many diverse forms. The Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police and other sectors, localities and organizations have coordinated smoothly and effectively; health check-ups have been carried out well; Party committees and authorities at all levels have initially implemented policies for active and retired soldiers in a relatively complete, synchronous and unified manner.

In addition to the achieved results, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also pointed out the shortcomings and limitations such as: Registration and management of military readiness resources in some localities and educational institutions are still limited; the organization of health check-ups in some localities still has errors; although the military rear policy has received attention, it is not commensurate; connection and job creation have not achieved high results.

Regarding the 2023 military recruitment task, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung proposed striving to complete the targets assigned to Nghe An province by the Government, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security; ensuring increasingly high requirements on quality and cultural level.

To complete the target, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Standing Office of the Provincial Military Service Council, the Provincial Military Command, to pay attention to digital transformation, building a citizen database to firmly grasp, clearly understand, and be transparent in military recruitment, serving the health check-up and citizen management. Currently, the province is implementing Project 06 of the Government, so the digitalization of military recruitment is very favorable.

In addition, continue to promote propaganda, communication and education so that citizens are aware that participating in military service is an honor and pride for themselves and their families. At the same time, strictly handle violations and widely publicize the handling of violations of the Law on Military Service.
