Provincial Traditional Arts Center wins Gold Award at ASEAN Music Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Province Traditional Arts Center with the program "Thanh am mien vi, giam" won a gold medal at the 2022 ASEAN Music Festival.

On the evening of December 24, the Closing and Award Ceremony of the ASEAN Music Festival - 2022 took place in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province. The festival was chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Performing Arts, in coordination with the Department of International Cooperation, the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province and relevant agencies and units.

Taking place from December 19, 2022 to December 24, 2022, the festival will have 14 units participating, including 10 domestic units and 4 international units.

Nghe An Traditional Arts Center with the program "Thanh am mien vi, giam" won the gold medal; the remaining 2 gold medals belonged to Yen Bai Provincial Cultural Center with the program "Mat nui"; Thang Long Music and Dance Theater with the program "Tinh tu Thang Long".

The art program “Thanh am mien vi, giam” participating in the festival focuses on investing in expertise in vocal and instrumental music, based on the materials of vi, giam folk songs and musical instruments of ethnic minorities imbued with the love of the land and people of Nghe An.

The program also won 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals and 1 individual won the Best Director Award, Musician Tran Quoc Chung, and the Best Musician Award at the Festival was Artist Minh An. This is also the first time the Center has participated in the ASEAN Music Festival and has become a cultural bridge, creating opportunities for Nghe An province to demonstrate solidarity, exchange and integration with countries in the region, affirming its position in the country's art scene.

At the closing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Steering Committee of the ASEAN Music Festival - 2022 emphasized: The ASEAN Music Festival - 2022 with many rich and diverse performances and genres such as: Singing, dancing, solo, instrumental music, traditional drama, folk songs... are unique. Artists from Vietnam and other countries have vividly performed and spread the creativity, characteristics, and typical musical values ​​of each nation. Thereby, creating a deeper understanding of the spiritual and cultural life, customs and traditions and the sophistication in music of countries in the ASEAN region. This is also a bridge for people in the region to understand more, connect and unite, contributing to the increasingly prosperous development of the ASEAN community, responding to the trend of integration and common development of the world.

The Organizing Committee also appreciated the seriousness and dedication of the delegations participating in this ASEAN Music Festival, such as: the Kingdom of Cambodia Art Troupe, the Lao National Art Troupe, the Union of Myanmar Art Troupe, and the Malaysian Art Troupe.
