Indonesian coach: 'There's no way we'll play 'defensively' against Vietnam'
(Baonghean.vn) - Coach Shin Tae Yong affirmed that there was no such thing as Indonesia "parking the bus" in front of the goal when playing Vietnam in the first leg of the AFF Cup 2022 semi-finals.
At 4:30 p.m. tomorrow (January 6), the first leg of the AFF Cup 2022 semi-final between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. Speaking on CNN Indonesia before the match against Vietnam in the semi-finals of the AFF Cup 2022, coach Shin Tae Yong said: "There is no way we will play defensively against Vietnam. Indonesia has shown progress in this year's tournament. The whole team still plays like they did in the group stage."
After 4 matches, Indonesia has 12 goals like Vietnam, but had to pick the ball out of the net 3 times. Coach Shin Tae Yong affirmed that if his players had taken advantage of the opportunities, the number of goals would have been higher than Vietnam.

The Korean strategist emphasized that Indonesia must learn many lessons to get the best results in the two upcoming matches against Vietnam: "The team just had a video conference to study the Vietnam team. I emphasize that the semi-final and final matches will no longer be based on goal difference. However, we must take advantage of the opportunity, because that determines victory.
Since leading the Indonesian team in 2020, Coach Shin has faced Vietnam 4 times at the U19, U23 and national team levels but has never won.
Bola newspaper is worried: "Coach Shin's head-to-head record against Vietnamese teams is quite bad. The Vietnamese team is a nightmare for the national team under coach Shin."

However, coach Shin said: "Indonesia plays the first leg of the semi-final at home. The whole team is preparing the best for the semi-final at Bung Karno Stadium to meet the expectations of the fans."
For his part, coach Park Hang Seo commented: "Indonesia is the AFF Cup runner-up. Watching them play, I see that they have changed a lot. Their squad has more good naturalized players, who play well and have good physical strength. They are a very tough opponent, and they are playing at home.
