(Baonghean.vn) - From early morning on December 23, the traditional markets were crowded and bustling due to the increased number of shoppers. The goods serving the market on the day of seeing off the Kitchen Gods were very diverse and abundant.

According to traditional Vietnamese customs, on the 23rd of December every year, people often prepare items, including live carp, funny hats, fresh flowers... along with a tray of food to send the Kitchen Gods to heaven. On the morning of the 23rd of December, at the traditional markets, the number of shoppers is much larger than usual.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a fishmonger at Vinh market, said: To prepare for the Kitchen God worship day, I imported more than 500 fish from Hung Nguyen and Nam Dan districts to sell to people today. This year's purchasing power is higher than previous years, especially medium and small fish that many people choose to buy.

Ms. Le Thi Thu, Le Mao ward (Vinh city) shared: "Every year I buy 3-5 red carp to send Mr. Tao off to heaven. For this item, you need to go early to buy beautiful fish because there are many buyers. If you are late, you will only have weak or unattractive fish...".

According to the survey, the price of carp this year has increased slightly compared to previous years and is divided into many types for people to choose from. Small fish cost from 10,000 - 20,000 VND/fish, large fish from 30,000 - 40,000 VND/fish. People often choose fresh, colorful fish that swim well to ensure that the fish can live until release. Besides red carp, other traditional carp are also sought after by many people because they are much cheaper than red carp.
