(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested districts to complete rice distribution to people before January 19 (ie 28th of Tet).

The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued a decision on the allocation of famine relief rice to support people during the Lunar New Year 2023. Accordingly, 11 districts in the province will be allocated nearly 1,326 tons of rice to distribute to people lacking food during Tet.

Specifically, Ky Son district was allocated more than 372 tons; Quy Chau district received more than 224 tons; Que Phong district was allocated nearly 212 tons; Tuong Duong district was allocated 210 tons; Con Cuong district 110 tons...

Among the 11 districts, the locality that received the least rice was Hung Nguyen district, with just over 3.1 tons; followed by Tan Ky with 4.6 tons; Nghi Loc with 7.8 tons; Anh Son with nearly 25 tons; Quy Hop with nearly 75 tons and Thanh Chuong with more than 81 tons.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region to organize the transportation and delivery of rice directly to the People's Committees of districts to ensure quality and timeliness.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Chairmen of the District People's Committees to organize the reception of rice from the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region to promptly distribute to people lacking food during the Lunar New Year 2023 according to the approved list, ensuring timeliness and correct norms according to regulations.

Responsible for directing and inspecting the reception and distribution of rice to households receiving rice support in communes and towns to ensure timeliness and correctness; the distribution of rice to people must be completed before January 19, 2023 and the results must be reported to the Provincial People's Committee, through the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. At the same time, proactively allocate local budgets to promptly transport famine relief rice to people from district and town centers to commune centers and villages in mountainous districts; summarize funding needs and send them to the Department of Finance.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to urge and inspect the People's Committees of districts in distributing rice to people in a timely and proper manner. The Department of Finance is responsible for appraising and submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for decision on supporting the cost of transporting rice to relieve hunger for people.
